![]() SEEKONK, Mass. — For the first time in his Seekonk Speedway career, Rodney Dowless was celebrating in Victory Lane on Friday, July 22. Dowles took advantage of mid-race trouble for Darren Krantz Jr to take the lead, then held off some of the best in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits to take down the impressive victory. While Dowless won, the night marked a strong run for Collin Vanasse, who led laps, and scored a career best second-place finish after 15 laps. Sam Macedo rocketed to a third-place finish, returning to the podium, while Milania Shilosky and Nick Uhrig Jr. completed the top-five spots. Brody Wakefield was sixth, followed by Allyha DeSomma, Parker Davis, Darren Krantz Jr and Bryson Robidoux. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits will return to the track on Friday, July 29, for another 15-lap feature. ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. -- On Friday night at Seekonk Speedway, it was a special night in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws. Bradley Strickland wheeled to his first career win in the 15-lap feature driving the No. 84, on the same anniversary night of his father, who more than a decade ago, suffered an injury in the military and nearly lost his life. Victory Lane was emotional for many reasons — but for Strickland — it was a proud moment after capturing his first career win and celebrating with his family. Chase Silvia grabbed the second spot at the end of the race, posting another strong run, as the driver of the No. 17 now has victories in six of eight races and has finished on the podium in all of them. Mikey LeFort III scored his own podium, finishing in third, while Andrew Gomes and Adam Harrison completed the top-five. Brent Robidoux was sixth, followed by Jordan Duquette, Leo Rossi, Joey LeMay, Nathan Rioux and Bobby Bettencourt III. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws will return to the track on Friday, July 29, for another 15-lap feature. RACE TO THE PLAYOFFS HEATS UP WITH FAST FRIDAY, NASCAR SATURDAY AT SEEKONK SPEEDWAY THIS WEEKEND7/19/2022 ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. — As the race for the Seekonk Speedway Drive For The Cup inches closer, the Action Track of the East will return to racing this weekend, Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23. The weekend will include both Fast Friday and NASCAR Saturday racing, including the annual Rhode Island Shriners night with the clowns and the trike races on Saturday night. On NASCAR Saturday, Dave Darling edged Mike Brightman in the late laps of the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series last week, and will look to make it two in a row this Saturday night. Darling hadn’t won in over 300 days, but quickly put that to rest, while Brightman already has two wins on the season. It’s been quite the run of tough luck for Ryan Vanasse, but expect him to be a major contender during the 40-lap race this week. The Late Model division continues to impress, and they will be back this week with their own 30-lap feature. Seven-time track champion Gerry DeGasparre Jr. picked up his second win of the season last week from the middle of the pack, while Luke Lebrun and Mark Jenison joined him on the podium. Jenison and Lebrun haven’t won yet, and should be looked at as major contenders going into this week. Can Vinnie Arrenegado turn his efforts around this week? Will Richie Murray or Chase Belcher grab their second wins of the year? In the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman, Chad Baxter has returned too domination. With three straight wins, the defending champion is rolling through the pack like putting butter on bread. But will Craig Pianka get back to Victory Lane this week for the fourth time? Can someone like Doug Benoit or Tyler Almeida win their first race in the Sportsman? Will it be another contender out front after 25 laps? The Chaz Auto Body Sport Truck season has been filled with wildness, and after Rick Martin’s third win last week, it’s anyone’s game going into their 25-lap race this Saturday night. Names like Brittany Campbell, Barry Shaw Jr., Mike Cavallaro and Mike Duarte have already been to Victory Lane this year. Can Darryl Church or Amy Arsenault get their first wins of the year ? What about Jake Vanada? Saturday also includes the annual appearance by the Rhode Island Shriners clowns and the Trike Races. On Fast Friday, the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero divisions roar back to racing, both in the Bandits and the Outlaws. In the Bandits, only three different drivers have been to Victory Lane, with Darren Krantz Jr. returning to winning form last week, and Milania Shilosky and Ryan Vanasse Jr. also grabbing wins. Heading into this week, will a fourth driver add their name to the list? In the Outlaws, Chase Silvia has wins in six out of seven races, and although it may sound crazy to say, most of the other competitors have been close behind him. Andrew Gomes, Bradley Strickland and others have been in position, just haven’t been able to seal the deal. Look out for Adam “Hollywood” Harrison to break into Victory Lane before long as well. Your Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4 field has been filled with a diverse group of winners, opened by points leader Crystal Murray winning the first two races. Additional winners include Karlin Levesque, Jarrod Freitas, AJ Manuel and last week’s checkered flag holder Tyler Duhancik. Can Taylor Bowser boost from her podium finish last week into the winner’s circle this time around in their 25-lap feature? The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars field has been chasing Mason Tessier the last two weeks. Driving for Helger’s Racing, Tessier got off to a rough start in 2022, but in his words, “made a statement” last week grabbing his second straight. Can Devin Deshaies or Brendon Hammann return to their winning ways this week or will someone else capture the flag? Can Tessier do it for a third week in a row? In the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks, the field is wide open to get to Victory Lane. Ethan Souza scored his first win of the season last week, but Greg Perry, Mike Henriques, Danny Massa and others have also been to the winner’s circle. Will we see a repeat winner in their 25-lap feature or will someone new get to the top this week? Fast Friday racing begins at 7 p.m., while NASCAR Saturday takes the green flag at 6 p.m. Seekonk Speedway tickets for the 2022 are available online at SeekonkSpeedway.com today. Fans can purchase tickets ahead and skip the lines on race day, including for pit passes. Upcoming major events include the second annual Bay State Classic on Wednesday, July 27, headlined by the Pro All Star Series 150-lap, $10,000 to win race. The event will also include the $2,000 to win Nick Lascuola Racing Summer Showdown set for 35 laps and the PASS Modifieds. On Saturday, July 30, Seekonk celebrates the middle of the summer with the Midsummer Thrill Show. Souza took the early lead from the outside pole position and held off all challengers behind him to score his first win of the 2022 season in the 25-lap feature. Even though he took the win, the final few laps were a hard battle to overcome, with recent winners Mike Henriques and Danny Massa close behind coming to the line. Henriques would finish second, putting together two straight weeks of impressive runs, while Massa was sent to the rear early for contact, and worked his way back up through the field to finish in third. Behind them, names like Ed Gould, Sam Lincoln, Greg Perry, Matthew Talbot, Jared Cordeira and others put together strong top-10 runs. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment division will return to the track on Friday, July 22, for another 25-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest updates. ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. — Mason Tessier may have struggled the first few weeks of the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars season, but he’s caught fire in the competitive division the last two weeks. Tessier took the lead when a few of the leaders tangled in the 25-lap feature on July 15 and took full advantage, driving off to Victory Lane for the second straight week. The win was Tessier’s third career in the Legends Cars, and he picked up the victory in the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series in the process. Behind him, Brendon Hammann rebounded from a mid-race spin to finish second, while Reese Bogue worked his way from the back to the front, finishing in third spot. Devin Deshaies and Jake Silvia finished the top-five. Dustin Gagne was sixth, while Jacob Burns, Nicholaus Bulkeley, Richie Helger Jr. and Isaiah Newcomb finished the top-10. The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars division will return to the track on Friday, July 22, for another 25-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest updates. ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. — Much of the beginning of the 2022 Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4 season has been a struggle for Tyler Duhancik, but it wasn’t the story this time around. Duhancik jumped out front inside the final 10 laps, passing Taylor Bowser for the lead, and took the No. 48 Phil’s Propane machine to Victory Lane for the first time in 2022. Duhancik’s victory was an impressive one, with Crystal Murray hounding the back bumper late in the race, as the points leader now has podium finishes in all but one race, this time with a second. Bowser finished third, her first podium of her career in the Sport 4 division, while Daniel Hayes scored a career best fourth-place finish. Henry Lavallee rounded out the top-five. Sam Mattera finished sixth, followed by Karlin Levesque, Ron Gajowski, Stephanie Bruneau and Andrew Rittman. The Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4 division will return to the track on Friday, July 22, for another 25-lap feature. The driver of the No. 17 in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws rolled to his sixth victory in seven races in the competitive division, passing for the lead just into the second half of the race and never looking back. Silvia’s early season run driving for Helger’s Racing now hits the halfway point, and he has shown no signs of slowing down heading for the stretch run. While Silvia rolled to another win, Andrew Gomes and Adam Harrison put together impressive runs, finishing second and third. Bradley Strickland wasn’t far behind, finishing in fourth, while Mikey LeFort III returned to the top-five in fifth. Dylan Calabro was sixth, followed by Brent Robidoux, Jordan Duquette, Joey LeMay and Bobby Bettencourt III. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws will return to the track on Friday, July 22, for another 15-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest updates. ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. — After a few weeks off the top of the field, Darren Krantz Jr. returned to Seekonk Speedway Victory Lane on Friday, July 15. Krantz quickly got to the front of the pack in Friday’s 15-lap Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit feature, but had to hold off the hard charges of Milania Shilosky in the final laps to take down another win. Shilosky put together quite the impressive run herself, rebounding from trouble a week earlier to finish second this time around. Sam Macedo returned to the podium, finishing third for the first time in 2022, while Allyha DeSomma and Rodney Dowles finished the top-five spots at the finish. Collin Vanasse finished sixth, followed by Nick Uhrig Jr., Bryson Robidoux, Parker Davis and Luka Dib. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits will return to the track on Friday, July 22, for another 15-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest updates. ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. — As the Action Track of the East hits the middle of the summer, racing will heat up this weekend with two nights of action set for Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16. Fast Friday returns to the track for another round, while NASCAR Saturday is also back for the first time in nearly one month as the battle towards the inaugural Seekonk Speedway Drive For The Cup Playoff system continues to inch closer. Fast Friday will be headlined by the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series for the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, while Saturday includes the second round of the Everett’s Triple Crown for the Pro Stocks, set for 60 laps, and a special appearance by the Troy City Tactical Spectator Drags. Fast Friday’s Legends Cars division has been competitive all year, and a special extra-distance race this week should be no different. Devin Deshaies has three wins, with Brendon Hammann close behind with two. Mason Tessier had a rough start to the year, but spun it back in his own direction last week, scoring his first win of the season. Additional drivers who haven’t won, but have been competitive, include Reese Bogue, Isaiah Newcomb, Brenden LaBelle and Josh Parsons. The second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series will help decide who makes the finale round for the Legends Cars, which is set for August 5. In the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks, Mike Henriques heads into the 25-lap feature this week fresh-off his first win of the season, with Greg Perry, a two-time feature winner, coming home in the runner-up spot last week. While those two have been strong, Danny Massa has a 10-point lead over Jeremy Lambert in the standings. Both of those drivers have been to Victory Lane — but the next two in the points battle — Sam Lincoln and Jordan Threllfall — would like to get there for the first time this Friday night. Both Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero divisions have been competitive all year, with the Outlaw division running through Chase Silvia in the first six weeks. Silvia has five wins behind the wheel of the No. 17, and has a comfortable lead over Andrew Gomes. However, with the new playoff system this year, all that matters is making the top six in the point standings in the Bandolero class. Currently, Mikey LeFort III leads Bobby Bettencourt III for the final playoff spot by four points, with Adam Harrison and Bradley Strickland just 8 points back. As the playoffs inch closer, will the Outlaw division be Seekonk’s closest battle to make it into the playoffs? The Bandit division has three different winners so far, with Darren Krantz Jr. winning the first three events, followed by two straight by Milania Shilosky and last weeks winner Ryan Vanasse Jr. Heading into their 15-lap feature this week, Sam Macedo, Collin Vanasse and Bryson Robidoux will all be looking for their first wins of the season, while RJ Murphy looks to repeat his podium last week and get even closer to the front. The Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4 division closed up last week when Crystal Murray had a tire failure, meaning she leads Jarrod Freitas and Tyler Duhancik by just six points. However, the battle for the top-8 spots is also competitive in this division. Stephanie Bruneau leads by six points over Justin Leduc, as the top-9 drivers seem to have separated themselves a bit from others. The Sport 4 division has multiple different winners so far, and names like Henry Lavallee and Duhancik could be adding their name this week. On NASCAR Saturday, the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman field has continued to impress fans this year, with Ed Perry, Craig Pianka and Chad Baxter all visiting Victory Lane so far. However — names like Doug Benoit, Tyler Almeida and Adam Pettey have been close to getting the job done. Baxter got his old faithful car back a few weeks ago and has multiple wins in a row under his belt leading into this weekend, but we will see if a two-week break changes things. The Pro Stocks will compete in the second round of their Everett’s Triple Crown, set for 60 laps, and it should be a close battle. In the first Triple Crown race, Mike Brightman barely held off Dave Darling, thrilling fans with a final 10 laps to remember. This time, will Darling get the edge? The eight-time track champion has yet to get to Victory Lane in 2022 as we hit the middle of July. Tommy Adams, Tom Scully Jr., Ryan Vanasse and others will look to make their own mark on this special event. The Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks are coming off their own two-week break, and as one of Seekonk’s most competitive divisions, their race for the playoffs is also close. Amy Arsenault leads Tom Scully III by just eight points for the final playoff spot, while the top-six drivers seem to have distanced themselves. Jake Vanada is seventh, just six points ahead of Arsenault. All three of them will look for their first wins of the season this week in the 25-lap feature on Saturday, trying to beat the likes of recent winner Brittany Campbell, Barry Shaw Jr., Mike Cavallaro, Rick Martin, Mike Duarte and others. In the Late Models, this division is coming off one of the more intense races in recent memory — a three-wide battle for the lead in the last round of the Triple Crown Series. Their 30-lap feature this week will be a battle between points leader Gerry DeGasparre Jr., Vinnie Arrenegado, Chase Belcher, Richie Murray and others. Saturday also includes another round of racing for the Troy City Tactical Spectator Drags — their second straight weekend of action. Early in their season, Richie Johnson leads the points battle over Mike Vincent and Joe Defarias. Fast Friday racing begins at 7 p.m., while NASCAR Saturday takes the green flag at 6 p.m. Tickets for both nights are available in advance at SeekonkSpeedway.com and will also be available at the track on race day. Tickets for all of the 2022 Seekonk Speedway events are also available online. Seekonk Speedway has multiple major events coming up including the second annual Bay State Classic on Wednesday, July 27, worth $10,000 to win with the Pro All Star Series in town. The Midsummer Thrill Show is also scheduled for Saturday, July 30. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest updates. ![]() It was almost like Mason Tessier had been fired out of a cannon on Friday night, as the driver of the No. 42 picked up his first Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars win of the season in the 25-lap feature. Tessier started in the middle of the pack, but it didn’t take him long to get to the front, as the former Seekonk Speedway Youth Racing champion passed Derek Gluchacki just before the halfway point to take the lead for the first time. In a race that was mostly clean and green, Tessier would never relinquish the top spot. He started off the year with a few bad weeks, wrecking and ending races before the finish, but this time, Tessier was the first one across the finish line after a 25-lap battle filled with excitement. Derek Gluchacki returned to the Legends Cars, led laps, and finished in second, while Josh Parsons followed both of them across the line and finished in third spot. Brendan LaBelle charged through the pack late to finish fourth, followed by Devin Deshaies, a three-time season winner. The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars will return to the track on Friday, July 15 for the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, a 30-lap feature.
