SEEKONK, Mass. -- Two weeks ago, Chad Baxter got the car back that he had dominated with at Seekonk Speedway in 2021. Two races in, he has two victories with it in 2022. Baxter made a late move to pass Randy Moretti for the lead on Saturday, June 25, picking up the victory in the 25-lap main event, as the defending champion is back in prime form. Moretti led most of the race, but a caution in the final laps slowed the action and the battle was on up front. Moretti spun the tires just a bit from the lead, and Baxter, who had charged from 10th all the way to the outside of the front row, took full advantage, taking the lead. Baxter would hang on for the win, besting Ed Perry and Adam Petty at the finish. Kyle Casper crossed the line fourth, while Ryan Lineham was behind him, rounding out the top-five. Doug Benoit finished sixth, followed by Moretti, Scott Serydysnki Jr., Tyler Almeida and Craig Pianka. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman will return to the track on Saturday, July 9. The NASCAR Saturday divisions will be off on July 2. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.

SEEKONK, Mass. -- Derek Gluchacki continued a hot start to his 2022 Late Model season across New England at Seekonk Speedway on Saturday night. Gluchacki wheeled the No. 03 to the front, picking up the win in the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, a 45-lap main event. Gluchacki took the lead from Mark Jenison and Richie Murray in the middle of the race and never looked back. While Gluchacki won, the race between himself, Jenison and Murray was one of the best in recent memory. The three drivers ran three-wide for at least two full laps, with Murray rim riding around the top, Jenison in the middle and Gluchacki on the bottom. They barely touched — if at all — and everyone made it though to finish on the podium. Gluchacki won, followed by Murray and Jenison at the finish. Gerry DeGasparre Jr. rebounded from a rough race to finish fourth, followed by Paul Lallier in fifth. Vinnie Arrenegado was sixth, while Chase Belcher, Luke Lebrun, Kevin Bowe and Josh Hedges rounded out the top-10. The Late Models will return to the track on Saturday, July 9. The NASCAR Saturday divisions will be off on July 2. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media. SEEKONK, Mass. -- Through the first month and a half of the Chaz Auto Body Sport Truck season, Brittany Campbell has been a dominant force at the front of the field. After countless podium runs to open the Seekonk Speedway season, Campbell finally broke into Victory Lane on Saturday, June 25 — ending a full night of racing with the checkered flag in her hand. Campbell chased the back bumper of Amy Arsenault for much of the main event — but when all of the marbles were on the line — Campbell wasn’t going to be denied. She worked the inside of Arsenault a few times, and eventually the two made contact, with Arsenault spinning in turn three. Campbell restarted out front and drove away, holding off Jake Vanada in the final few laps to take down the victory. Vanada finished second, while Mike Cavallaro drove to the front and finished the podium in third. Mike Duarte was fourth, and Darryl Church finished the top-five. Rick Martin finished sixth, followed by Barry Shaw, Tom Scully III, Marissa Morgan and Danny Thibeault. The Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks will return to the track on Saturday, July 9. The NASCAR Saturday divisions will be off on July 2. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media. SEEKONK, Mass. — There is nothing quite like winning a race for the first time. Just ask Jarrod Freitas, who drove the No. 04 into Victory Lane on Friday, June 24 in the Seekonk Speedway Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4 division. After wrecking his car at another track last year, he was offered a ride by Jaden Hamilton, and has taken full advantage this year. Freitas took the lead away from his challengers early in the 25-lap race and wasn’t going to be denied in the second half. He held off the hard charges of Matt Pion first, then had to fend-off two-time winner and points leader Crystal Murray, who eventually finished in second. Tyler Duhancik rebounded from a tough first few weeks, scoring a much needed third-place finish. Karlin Levesque, the winner the week before, and Jeremy Palmer finished the top-five. Taylor Bowser finished sixth, followed by Justin Leduc, Jacob Budznya, Christine Cavallaro and Stephanie Bruneau. The Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4’s will return to the track on Friday, July 8. The Fast Friday divisions will be off on July 1. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media. SEEKONK, Mass. -- For the third time in five races in the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, Devin Deshaies was celebrating in Victory Lane on Friday, June 24. Deshaies made the pass on teammate Jacob “Rowdy” Burns just before the halfway point, and had to hold off Burns, Nicholaus Bulkeley and others over the final half to take down another feature win. With a new combination this year, Deshaies has been impressive with the B&M Maintenance team, driving for Nick Lascuola Racing. Bulkeley put together his best career run, contending for the win late, to join Deshaies at the front in second spot at the finish. Brendan LaBelle posted his best career finish, scoring a podium run for the first time in third, charging through the field in the final half. Mason Tessier wasn’t far behind, finishing fourth after running up front for the whole race. Burns and Brendon Hammann both fell victim to losing their bumpers during the race, which cost them a strong finish. The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends will return to the track on Friday, July 8. The Fast Friday divisions will be off on July 1. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media. SEEKONK, Mass. — Danny Massa wanted to win last week, badly. This week, he found redemption. The driver of the No. 41 in the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks rocketed to the lead just before the halfway point in the 30-lap Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series race and held on to pick up the win. While doing it, Massa held three fingers out the window coming to the checkered flag, honoring the late Tom Scully Sr. while rolling into Victory Lane. Behind Massa -- the race was hot and heavy — with some intense side-by-side racing. Timmy Ouellette did everything he could, fighting with a loose car, to hang on for a strong podium run after a tough start to the season. Sam Lincoln joined him on the podium this week, after a little assistance from former Pure Stock champion Doug Benoit during the week. Two-time season winner Greg Perry, Nick Brightman, Billy Chouinard, Ethan Souza, Austin Flanagan, Matthew Talbot and others all ran around the top-10 at the finish, posting strong runs in the extra-distance event. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks will return to the track on Friday, July 8, for a 25-lap feature. The Fast Friday divisions will be off on July 1. SEEKONK, Mass. — For the fourth time in the first five Fast Friday races, Chase Silvia was holding the checkered flag in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws on Friday night. Silvia rolled to the point in the second half of the race and had to hold off a tough group of challengers on the final restart, but was able to win the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, a 15-lap race. Silvia’s early-season roll driving for Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Racing has been impressive. Andrew Gomes also continued his strong start to the season in this one, finishing second, while Joey LeMay worked his way to the front and finished a strong third after leading many laps early. Adam Harrison rebounded from a mid-race problem to finish fourth, while Brent Robidoux finished the top-five. Bradley Strickland finished sixth, followed by Mikey LeFort III, Bobby Bettencourt III, Abbie Badejo and Leo Rossi. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws will return to the track on Friday, July 8, for a 15-lap feature. The Fast Friday divisions will be off on July 1. For the second straight week, Shilosky rocketed to Victory Lane on Friday, June 24, picking up the win in the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown. Shilosky rolled off in the middle of the pack — but quickly worked her way to the front — passing for the lead on lap seven — and staying out front for the remainder of the 15-lap event. Shilosky was chased to the finish line by a duo of No. 11 cars — with Ryan Vanasse Jr. scoring another podium in second and Nick Uhrig finishing third, marking an impressive performance. Uhrig was in the hospital, missing the racing action just one week ago, but was able to rebound in a big way this week, on the podium. Darren Krantz Jr. and Collin Vanasse finished the top-five. RJ Murphy finished sixth, after running inside the top-three for much of the race, his best performance of his career, followed by Sam Macedo, Bryson Robidoux, Parker Davis and Luka Dib. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits will return to the track on Friday, July 8, for a 15-lap feature. The Fast Friday divisions will be off on July 1. SEEKONK, Mass. – With just one week left to go before the annual $10,000 to win Open Wheel Wednesday returns to Seekonk Speedway on June 29, the stars are lining up to compete for the big prize. Six-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion and three-time Open Wheel Wednesday winner Doug Coby, four-time event winner and current Monaco Modified Tri-Track points leader Matt Hirschman, and current Whelen Modified Tour points leader Ron Silk are just a few of the drivers planning to compete in the 100-lap event. Over the 16-year history of the prestigious race, Hirschman and Coby have the most wins, combining to win nearly half of the races. Last year, Hirschman dominated the race, becoming the first driver to win it four times. Coby hasn’t won the race since 2016, but has been knocking on the door, and will look to tie Hirschman for the historic mark driving his own No. 10. Silk, who has been focusing on chasing his first Whelen Modified Tour championship with Haydt-Yannone Racing this year, will return to Seekonk behind the wheel for car owner Bob Horn. In 2019, Silk dominated the race with Horn and captured the $10,000 check. Those three competitors may be among the favorites – but there are plenty of others on the list to watch heading into next Wednesday. So far in 2022, Hirschman won the Monaco Modified opener at Monadnock Speedway in April, and Chase Dowling followed it up by winning at Thunder Road Speedbowl on Memorial Day weekend. Dowling has been successful at Seekonk before – winning the Haunted Hundred last October, as the Connecticut, native has won three of the last five Tri-Track events, with Hirschman winning the other two. Woody Pitkat has also entered Open Wheel Wednesday driving for Doug Dunleavy. The combination is coming off a victory at Stafford Motor Speedway in their Bud Light Open Modified 80 event on June 10, and heading to Seekonk, Pitkat should be near the front of the field. Additional previous Open Wheel Wednesday winners scheduled to be in the field include Richard Savary, driving for Stephen Kopcik, Ronnie Williams, driving for Gary Casella, Kirk Alexander, driving for Norm Perry, Tommy Barrett and Chris Pasteryak. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour regular Kyle Bonsignore, local favorite Jake Johnson, Brian Robie, Sam Rameau, Matt Kimball, Matt Swanson, Dan Wesson, Les Hinckley and more are also expected to compete. Seekonk’s Open Wheel Wednesday is a three-division program, headlined by the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series. The 350 SMAC Supermodifieds and NEMA Lites will also join a full card of racing for the mid-week event. Tickets are available in advance at SeekonkSpeedway.com., where fans can purchase them and skip the lines on race day. Pit passes are also available online in advance. All tickets will also be sold at the track. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media. SEEKONK, Mass. -- Get ready for a Saturday night showdown at Seekonk Speedway.
For the first of two times in 2022, the Pro All Star Series (PASS) Pro Stocks will invade the third-mile this Saturday, June 25, with a 150-lap race, worth $3,500 to win. The race will pin Seekonk Speedway track regulars — who will have this week off — against the likes of former PASS champions and some of the best in touring series racing from around New England. The race will serve as a tune-up for the upcoming $10,000 to win Bay State Classic at Seekonk on Wednesday, July 27, which is also a PASS race. On the PASS front, Eddie MacDonald leads the championship standings over DJ Shaw, Joey Pole and Ryan Kuhn through the opening portion of their season, and all four contenders are expected to compete Saturday. If past history says anything, all four of them could pick up the checkered flag. Many of them are former Seekonk winners, and Kuhn, a former track Late Model champion, certainly knows his way around the third-mile. Kuhn is one of at least 10 former Seekonk Speedway champions entered to race Saturday. He’s joined by eight-time Pro Stock champion Dave Darling, who is the current Pro Stock points leader as part of NASCAR Saturday, chasing a record ninth title in 2022. Darling leads Mike Brightman by three points in his quest for the Seekonk title, but will look to fend-off the best of PASS this weekend. Former two-time track Late Model champion Dylan Estrella will also make his first appearance of the season in the field, driving the Everett’s Auto Parts No. 46. Estrella has been touring this season and the hometown experience may help him get to the front of the field at his home track. Tom Scully Jr., coming off the most emotional win of his career last week, is also entered for the 150-lap event. Scully is a former PASS winner at Seekonk and has proven he can defend the home turf. Angelo Belsito, a former Seekonk Pro Stock champion himself, is coming off a PASS podium at Seekonk last October. Look out for names like Jake Johnson — a former two-time Seekonk Legends Cars champion and current NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour regular — Jake Matheson, Kevin Casper and Bobby Pelland will also be in the field. Matheson is a former Seekonk Legends Cars champion, while Casper (Sport Trucks) and Pelland (Late Models) also have track titles in their history of accolades. On the PASS front, names like Johnny Clark, who won the $10,000 Bay State Classic and Haunted Hundred at Seekonk last year, will have to fight-off Ben Rowe, Brian Whalley, Wayne Helliwell Jr and others. Defending Seekonk Late Model champion Vinnie Arrenegado will also make his Pro Stock debut in the PASS race, stepping up and competing in double-duty with a total of almost 200 laps planned. “It should be an action-packed race,” Ed St. Germain, Director of Business Development at Seekonk Speedway, said. “PASS, the top Pro Stock touring series in the Northeast, continues to showcase some of the best racing in the country, and here at Seekonk, we have a strong contingent of drivers ready to battle them for the gold." Saturday night racing will also include the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series for the Late Models, 45 laps, a 25-lap feature for the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman and 25 laps for the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks. The order for the night will run with the Late Models first, followed by the Sportsman, PASS Pro Stocks and Sport Trucks as part of a full night of action. Tickets for NASCAR Saturday are available today at SeekonkSpeedway.com and are just $25 for adults to watch this special event. All pit passes can also be purchased in advance online.
