SEEKONK, Mass. — It took Luke LeBrun a while to find Victory Lane in the Late Models at Seekonk Speedway, but now, he’s two-for-two in the last two events. LeBrun used a move in the middle of the race to pass Scott Serydynski Jr. to take the lead, then held off the field on a final restart to score his second consecutive victory. Jacob Burns and Chase Belcher finished second and third. Burns quickly worked his way from seventh up to third by the time the field hit lap 13, then raced hard for second with LeBrun before LeBrun took the lead. Once LeBrun jumped out front, Burns followed to second, but couldn’t slide around before the end. The run for Belcher was one of his best of the season so far. Corey Fanning and Charlie Rose finished the top-five. Tyler Tomassi, Mark Jenison, Nathan Tracey, Bill Goodrow and Serydynski finished the top-10 spots. The Late Models will return to the track for another 30-lap feature on Saturday, July 1, before an off week on July 8 for the Independence Day Thrill Show. SEEKONK, Mass. — Dave Darling is back, and back in Victory Lane in the Pro Stocks at Seekonk Speedway. Darling returned yet again on Saturday night and picked up the victory in the first round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown for the Pro Stocks, a 60-lap main event. Darling used the outside lane to pass Colbey Fournier for the lead in the middle of the race and never looked back en route to yet another Seekonk win. Fournier ran for second with Bobby Pelland III in a thrilling battle over the final laps, with Fournier coming out on top at the end. Pelland was third, an impressive run up through the pack for the former Late Model champion. Rick Martin finished the race fourth with Tom Scully Jr. in fifth. Darrell Stampfl, Dick Benoit, Dylan Estrella, Mark Jenison and Mike Rotondo completed the top-10. The Pro Stocks will return to the track for another feature, this time 75 laps in the American Racer 75 on Saturday, July 1. SEEKONK, Mass. — Brittany Campbell and Mike Duarte ended the second round of the Chaz Auto Body Sport Truck Triple Crown inches apart on Saturday night. Luckily for everyone in attendance, their exciting and close race was for the win in the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series. Campbell was not in the lead of the race, but took over the top spot after leaders Mike Cavallaro and Bobby Tripp tangled when the field crossed at lap 11. She led from laps 12 through 32, until a caution went in the air and slowed the race. She restarted on the bottom in the lead and her and Duarte went wheel-to-wheel coming down to the finish. At the line at the white flag, Duarte edged out for the lead. But as they came off turn four to the checkered, Duarte slid back just a bit, and Campbell took full advantage to beat him to the line. Campbell finished ahead of Duarte by just .005 seconds. Darryl Church was third, followed by Amy Arsenault and Tom Scully III after 35 laps. Lenny Guy, Marissa Morgan, Mike Cavallaro, Rick Martin and Jake Vanada completed the top-10. The Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks will return to the track for another feature, this time 25 laps on Saturday, July 1. SEEKONK, Mass. — The fourth race of the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stock season finally marked a new winner on Friday night. Danny Massa, who dominated the early stages of last year, became the first driver not named Scott Cestodio to get to the top spot after 25 laps in 2023. Massa started from the pole position and led the entire distance to score the win, holding off Mike Henriques on multiple restarts to accomplish the goal.
Ethan Souza worked his way up from a 10th-place starting spot to finish third in the No. 30, another consistent run to open his season. Behind them, Sam Lincoln was fourth and Timmy Ouellette fifth. Don Courtemanche, Cestodio, Josh Badach, Gary Conrad and Greg Perry finished the top-10. Cestodio was charging to the front running for second with Henriques in the middle of the race but spun and had to come from the rear to finish in seventh. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks will return to the track after an off week from competition on Friday, July 7 for another 25-lap feature race. SEEKONK, Mass. — Similar to the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw division is off to an impressive start when it comes to feature winners. In four races, Ryan Vanasse Jr. now has three wins and a runner-up finish, capturing yet another win in Friday’s 15-lap feature for the division. The opening laps of the race were similar to a NASCAR race at Talladega — with Bandolero cars all over the third-mile track. Ryan Vanasse Jr. was the one in the right place when the battle shook out, driving from his fourth row starting spot to the lead and never giving up the top spot in the remainder of the race. It wasn’t easy, though — as Vanasse had to hold off Robidoux, his cousin, Collin Vanasse, and others. Those three were on the podium at the end of the 15 laps. Behind them, Andrew Gomes and Ben Morabito finished the top-five. RJ Murphy was sixth, followed by Bryson Robidoux, Zachary Keith, Dylan Calabro and Nathan Rioux. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws will return to the track after an off week from competition on Friday, July 7 for another 15-lap feature race. SEEKONK, Mass. — The 2023 season has been a breakout year so far for Brenden LaBelle in the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, and it’s just getting started. Even though LaBelle missed the race in week two, he’s been to Victory Lane in all three races he’s competed in so far. Friday night, he captured the victory in round one of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series for the Legends Cars, a 30-lap feature. LaBelle used a late pass on Josh Parsons to take the top spot and never look back. Parsons wasn’t far behind as the field hit the final lap, with Chase Silvia, a former Bandolero winner, also contending for his first Legends Cars win. When they hit the line at the checkered flag, LaBelle was ahead of Parsons and Silvia to finish the top-three. However, the entire top-five results are still pending and unofficial due to inspection, as of the publication of this story. Unofficially, Riley Paul finished fourth and Mason Tessier fifth. Nicholaus Bulkeley, Jacob Burns, Isaiah Newcomb, Jimmy “Pepe” Silvia and Jake Silvia finished the top-10. The top-10 finishers were changed up post-race due to a few incidents on the final lap. The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars will return to the track after an off week from competition on Friday, July 7 for another 25-lap feature race. SEEKONK, Mass. — The name of the game last year for Sam Macedo was win the championship, but not a feature race in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits. It was a good ending for him — capturing his first track title and etching himself into the track record books as a champion at Seekonk Speedway. This season, four races into his title defense, he already has his first feature win of the year. Macedo started from the pole position and led all of the laps to capture the victory in Friday’s 15-lap main event. He was challenged a few times throughout the race, especially on the final restart, but didn’t let it change the outcome. Macedo passed the line ahead of Nick Uhrig Jr. and Parker Davis when the checkered flag went in the air. The remainder of the field include Jace Chaber, Mason Silva, Mike Hanafin, Ryder Aguiar and Luka Dib. The results of the feature remain unofficial at this time due to technical inspection. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits will return to the track after an off week from competition on Friday, July 7 for another 15-lap feature race. SEEKONK, Mass. — A few weeks ago, Tyler Duhancik was exiting his car and watching it leave the track on the back of a tow truck. Friday night, in the 25-lap Sport 4 feature, Duhancik was driving backwards around the track post-race with the checkered flag in his hand for the first time this season. Duhancik charged to the front and passed Henry Lavallee for the lead to take the victory in the No. 48. After he took the bottom and the battle began, the two raced side-by-side for many laps right down to the checkered flag. Lavallee settled for second, with Jarrod Freitas, the opening night winner, and Crystal Murray, the defending champion, right there. The four-car battle was one of the best the division has seen down the wire in many years. Justin Leduc rounded out the top-five with pole sitter and early leader Richie Johnson in sixth. Taylor Bowser, Christine Cavallaro, Daniel Hayes and Jacob Budzyna rounding out the top-10. The Sport 4 will return to the track after an off week from competition on Friday, July 7 for another 25-lap feature race. This Saturday night, they are scheduled to return in a big way with 60 laps of racing action. Tommy Adams, Rick Martin, Mark Jenison, David Darling and others will battle for their first wins of the season in the special event, round one of three in the Triple Crown. It’s the first of two consecutive extra-distance races for the Pro Stocks, with the American Racer Pro Stock 75 set for July 1. Just a few weeks ago, Luke Lebrun dominated the first round of the Triple Crown Series in the Late Models, This Saturday night, the division returns for 30 laps of excitement with Lebrun, Vinnie Arrenegado and Jacob Burns as the three winners so far. Names like Chase Belcher, Richie Murray, Mark Jenison, Corey Fanning and others will be searching their first win of the year. In the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman, a thrilling finish to the most recent event saw Chad Baxter and Steve Axon inches apart, with Axon grabbing his second straight win on June 10. When they return on Saturday, Baxter looks to capture his first win of the year, but may have to fight off Adam Pettey, who is the only driver to grab a podium finish in all three of the first events of the year. The second round of the Everett’s Triple Crown Series is also on tap for the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks on Saturday night, 35 laps. Jake Vanada enters the race having won two in a row, but Rick Martin and Mike Duarte have been breathing down his neck. Amy Arsenault, Brittany Campbell and the remainder of the Truckers will battle with Vanada to chase the checkered flag on Saturday night in their extra-distance event. Fast Friday’s Triple Crown race is for the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, the final of the Fast Friday divisions to get their Triple Crown underway. Through the first three races, two different drivers have been to Victory Lane, but Brenden LaBelle is undefeated as a driver. He picked up his first career win in week one, skipped week two, then charged back to win again in week three. Last week, it looked like Mason Tessier was going to win, but he finished in fourth. Jacob Burns, Josh Parsons, Richie Helger Jr and others are off to strong starts on their 2023 campaign. Speaking of strong starts, Scott Cestodio has three wins in three weeks in the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks and has no shown no signs of slowing down. However, names like Ethan Souza, Danny Massa, Greg Perry, Mike Henriques, Sam Lincoln and others will look to challenge him again on Friday night for 25 laps. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero divisions are also off to strong starts. Ryan Vanasse Jr. has two victories already in the Outlaws, while the Robidoux brothers, Brent and Bryson, have been impressive along with him. In the Bandits, Nick Uhrig Jr. picked up his first career win last week after Parker Davis won the first two events. Sam Macedo, the defending champion, has been strong early in the season as well. The Sport 4 division watched Crystal Murray use the outside lane to pass five cars in front of her and take the lead and the win in their Triple Crown opener last week. Other winners on the season include Jarrod Freitas and Mikey LeFort. Will one of these three win in their 25-lapper this week or can someone else add their name and make it four different winners in four races?
