TRIPLEHEADER WEEKEND INCLUDES TRIPLE CROWN EVENTS, MILITARY & YOUTH SPORTS NIGHT & MONSTER TRUCKS6/12/2024 As the summer revs up, Seekonk Speedway has a tripleheader of racing planned this weekend. From June 14-16, the Action Track of the East will be filled with excitement with race cars and Monster Trucks both competing on the track on specific days. Fast Friday returns to the track on Friday, June 14, with five divisions of racing including three Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series races. On NASCAR Saturday, the Pro Stocks run their first Triple Crown event of the year on Military and Youth Sports night at Seekonk Speedway, joined by the Late Models, Sportsman and Sport Trucks. On Sunday, the Monster Trucks are in town for a Spring Dash, joined by the East Coast Towing & Recovery Spectator Drags for a Father’s Day special. All tickets purchased for the original Military Night on May 18 will be honored for NASCAR Saturday on June 15. Fast Friday includes Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series openers for the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits, Outlaws and Sport 4s. The Bandolero divisions run their normal 15-lap distance, while the Sport 4 class will go for 30 laps. In both the Bandits and the Outlaws, the track has welcomed multiple new winners this season - including names like David Bernier, Mason Silva, Luka Dib, Mike Hanafin and Brody Wakefield. In the Sport 4s, with three different winners in three weeks, there are still plenty of options out there for someone to make it four, hoping to join Matt Pion, Crystal Murray and Tyler Duhancik. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks and Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars will also be on track Friday. Like the Sport 4s, both of these divisions have seen three different winners in three weeks. Some names to watch to continue the trend in the Pure Stocks include Ethan Souza, Bobby Bettencourt III and Greg Perry, among others. In the Legends Cars, look for names like Mason Tessier, Chase Silvia, Josh Parsons, Rodney Dowless and others to contend. On NASCAR Saturday, the Pro Stocks take center stage in their third race of the season, the first in the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series. Rookie of the Year favorite Vinnie Arrenegado, the defending Late Model champion, is off to a hot start in the Pro Stocks, with two second-place finishes. Winners this season include Dylan Estrella and Colbey Fournier so far. Will one of these three capture the 60-lap feature on Saturday, or will someone like Mark Jenison, Dick Benoit or Mike Rotondo take center stage? The Late Models are back for their third event of the season after taking last week off with the American-Canadian Tour in town. Richie Murray has a win and a fifth-place finish in the first two events and leads the standings through the early part of the season. The battle in the last feature came right down to the wire, with Jacob “Rowdy” Burns holding off Charlie Rose to and others take down the win. Look out for names like Rose, Luke Lebrun, Jenison and Connor Souza, along with Arrenegado, who will all look for their first win of the season in the 30-lap feature on Saturday night. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman division will hit the track for 25 laps of their own, looking for a fourth different winner in four events. Josh Hedges, Scott Serydynski Jr. and Adam Pettey have already been on top, but there are a ton of other contenders looking to pounce. Former Fast Friday Pure Stock champion Doug Benoit, driving the old ride Craig Pianka drove to a championship two years ago, has been strong in recent weeks, along with Colby Lambert, Mike Mitchell and others. In the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks, Rick Martin has two wins in the first three races of the season. Mike Duarte has been the most consistent driver in the field, finding himself on the podium in all three races. Duarte, a former division champion, will have stiff competition like Jake Vanada, Amy Arsenault and others, all looking for their first win of 2024 this week. Or, can Martin continue his Sport Truck dominance in the 25-lap main event? On Sunday, the Monster Trucks invade Seekonk Speedway for the Spring Bash. The Monster Truck show includes Stinger Unleashed, War Wizard, Psyco-Pat, Shredder, Loud & Dirty and more! This show also includes the East Coast Towing and Recovery Spectator Drags and it all begins at 2 p.m. Tickets are available online in advance at SeekonkSpeedway.com. Speaking of tickets, they are available on the track website for all shows in advance. Buying tickets in advance will allow customers to skip the long lines on race day and also save some money. This includes the opportunities to purchase pit passes in advance for teams, competitors and fans. Fast Friday racing goes green at 7 p.m., while NASCAR Saturday hits the track at 6 p.m. The Monster Truck show begins at 2 p.m. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com. Seekonk, MA — Thirty-four American-Canadian Tour teams entered the Cement Palace of Seekonk Speedway on Saturday afternoon with just one coming out on top. A spectacular day of racing set up one of the best late-race runs in recent memory with rookies and veterans alike digging-in side-by-side, often three-wide for position on Seekonk’s insanely competitive grooves. Under the fall of the checkered flags, the American-Canadian Tour has earned its third-straight first-time winner on the legendary circuit. Leading Rookie of the Year candidate Kasey Beattie hauled down from St. Johnsbury, Vermont and flew through heat two from dead last to a third-place finish, taking the pole position with a +6 handicap. Fellow young-guns Jacob Burns, Jeremy Sorel and Gabe Brown made up the first two rows to start the 49th Spring Green 124. The action started early with Brown diving under Beattie and Burns for a three-wide move across the line on lap 3. The three-wide thrills continued with Kaiden Fisher running alongside Erick Sands and Burns in a bare-knuckle fight for third. Following two quick one-car spin cautions, with many drivers jumping pitside for early adjustments, the battle up front intensified under restart conditions between Beattie, Brown and Fisher. Meanwhile, heavy drama was brewing as a back-sliding Burns was fighting to maintain a top-ten run with Jesse Switser. The pot over boiled as Burns went around off Switser’s bumper in turn two, finishing his day with the lap 51 caution and Switser was sent to the rear for his involvement. Hometrack runner Derek Gluchacki joined the top-5 fray on the restart with the wick burning hot between himself and fellow title chaser Gabe Brown. The two rivals bumped, banged and shoved alongside Beattie, Fisher and Tom Carey III in the fight at the front. Nevertheless, leading rookies Kasey Beattie and Kaiden Fisher put on a clinic at the front of the pack, circuit after circuit, while a fellow rookie chaser lost his best run so far. On lap 109, Jeremy Sorel was running hard on the outside lane among the top-ten before his rear-end expired and spread oil across the high groove, ending Sorel’s best ACT run to date and prompting a lengthy clean-up effort by the Seekonk track crew. The final fifteen laps proved to be some of the hardest-fought of the event. Beattie, Fisher, Erick Sands and Gabe Brown drove the doors of their machines, side-by-side, three-wide at times, fighting tooth and nail for inches at the finish line. On the final lap, Fisher made one final dive under Beattie for a chance at the lead in turn three that ultimately sent him sideways in a bloom of white smoke, sending the field scurrying back to the checkered flags. Rookie Kasey Beattie, the 2023 White Mountain Motorsports Park track champion who climbed the ACT Ladder System of weekly divisions over his young career, took down his first ever American-Canadian Tour victory at Seekonk Speedway with the historic 49th Spring Green. Derry, New Hampshire’s Erick Sands earned his career-best ACT Tour finish in second with Gabe Brown rounding out the podium. Strong runners Tom Carey III and Derek Gluchacki would round out the top five. Alexendre Tardif fireballed through the field from a last-place starting spot after a heat race wreck to finish sixth followed by defending Spring Green victor Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., Rochester, New Hampshire’s Cam Huntress, defending ACT champion D.J. Shaw and multi-time Seekonk champion David Darling to round out the top-ten. The American-Canadian Tour takes a week-off before returning to Epping, New Hampshire’s Star Speedway for the Coastal Clash 150! The superstar showdown includes fellow headlining Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models, the New England Supermodified Series (NESS) and the PASS Modifieds for an all-out experience at one of New England’s most popular ovals! SEEKONK, Mass. — The Pro Stocks wrapped a packed night of NASCAR Saturday racing at Seekonk Speedway on June 8, and it came right down to the wire to decide the winner. Dylan Estrella rocketed to the lead early in the No. 46, but when it came down to the final laps, he was doing everything he could to hang on.
Estrella had Pro Stock Rookie of the Year contender Vinnie Arrenegado chasing him down for the top spot. When they crossed for the white flag, Arrenegado was there. Even though he had a shot to make a move, it wasn’t enough. Estrella crossed the line on top after 40 laps with Arrenegado second. It was the first win of the season for Estrella and another impressive run for Arrenegado in his Rookie campaign to finish second. Bobby Pelland III followed in third, with defending champion Mark Jenison and opening night winner Colbey Fournier behind him in fourth and fifth. Mike Brightman, Kevin Casper, Jeramee Lillie, Kenny Spencer and Tommy Adams finished the top-10. The Pro Stocks will be back on the track on Saturday, June 15, for round one of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, set for 60 laps. Adam Pettey, Doug Benoit and Scott Serydynski Jr. battled it out hard for the win after a late restart set the stage for a dash to the finish. In the end, it was Pettey finding redemption, after two weeks of hard luck to open the season with a fast car. Pettey crossed the line and took the checkered flag, with Benoit, driving the car that Craig Pianka drove to the championship two years ago, finishing in second. Serydynski, who won the week prior, charged through the field and came away with a strong third-place finish. Colby Lambert and Randy Moretti followed in fourth and fifth. Jeremy Lambert, Joe Kohler Jr., Tyler Almeida, Josh Hedges and Nick Wood rounded out the top-10 in the 35-lap event. The Sportsman will be back on the track on Saturday, June 15, for 25 laps. SEEKONK, Mass. — The first round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series for the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks was exactly what Rick Martin needed to shine on Saturday night. Martin chased his way through the field and ended up out front when it mattered most - capturing his second win of the season in the No. 14 Truck.
On a late restart, Martin drove away from his competition, adding yet another win to his resume in his 50th season of racing in front of a strong crowd on Saturday night. Former champion Mike Duarte raced through the field to come away with another podium finish, grabbing a third-place effort, with DJ Thibeault in third, his best career run. Tim Bolger Jr. followed up his victory the week prior by finishing fourth with Amy Arsenault behind him in fifth at the finish. Dane Saritelli, Ethan Heilborn, Tom Scully III, Danny Thibeault and Marissa Morgan finished the top-10. The Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks will be back on the track on Saturday, June 15, for 25 laps. Open Wheel Wednesday Payout Boost in Honor of Vinny AnnarummoThe Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series (MMTTS) has announced Seekonk’s Open Wheel Wednesday event (Wed., June 26, 2024) will be a $20,000-to win race.
With a total purse currently sitting north of $74,000 the event becomes the highest paying race in the MMTTS’s 11-year history. The boost in payout is credited to MMTTS Managing Partner Wayne Darling’s efforts to honor his close friend - and 7-time Seekonk Champion - Vinny Annarummo, who sadly passed away in February. “Behind the scenes, Wayne (Darling) and Ed St. Angelo have been working for some time to spearhead fundraising as a way to honor their departed friend,” explained Renee Dupuis, Director of Series Development. “Just this week, Wayne and David Darling (Wayne’s son), added additional funds to the pot to make it $20k-to-win. We are proud to now be able to make the announcement on their behalf while sincerely thanking Wayne, David, Ed and the many additional contributors,” she continued. “As a racer’s racer, I think Vinny would be excited to learn racers are directly benefiting from his tribute,” offered Wayne. “We’ll have a full payout and complete list of contributors out shortly,” he added. As a valued partner facility, the Series is pleased Seekonk Speedway is the chosen location for not only Open Wheel Wednesday, but also the MMTTS season finale at the Haunted Hundred (Sat., Nov. 2, 2024). As with all monies contributed to date, 100% of any additional funds, collected between now and Open Wheel Wednesday, will be added to the purse. SEEKONK, Mass. — In a race to beat out Mother Nature — and the rest of the field — Brenden LaBelle had to work for it on Friday night at Seekonk Speedway. LaBelle started at the rear of the 25-lap Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars feature and drove all the way to the front, rocketing to Victory Lane in the No. 4. Although it was his first win of the new season, LaBelle is no stranger to winning races on Fast Friday. While LaBelle made the move late and drove away with the win, the battle for second was on behind him. After a hard-fought battle, Zach Martinez came home with a strong second-place finish. It was young driver Ryan Vanasse Jr. - a former Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero winner - who grabbed his first career podium behind him, finishing in third. Chase Silvia and last week’s winner Richie Helger Jr followed in fourth and fifth. Josh Parsons, Mason Tessier, Jacob “Rowdy” Burns, Kevin Davis and Rodney Dowless Jr. finished the top-10 spots. The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars will be back on the track on Friday, June 14, for another 25-lap main event. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media. SEEKONK, Mass. — David Bernier had two podium finishes in two races entering Friday night at Seekonk Speedway. This time around, he was back on the podium - but in the top spot. Bernier captured his first career Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit career feature win in the 15-lap event on June 7 and he did it in dominating fashion. Bernier drove away out front, besting the second-place finisher Luka Dib by over three seconds at the finish line. He has now been victorious for the first time in his Seekonk Speedway career, adding his name to a historic list of drivers as winners at the Action Track of the East. Dib, who won the first race of the season, finished a strong second, while Mason Silva, who won the week prior, was back on the podium in third. Ayla Martin and Jase Chaber followed in fourth and fifth, with Kennedy Burrows not far behind. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits will be back on the track on Friday, June 14, for another 15-lap main event. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media. SEEKONK, Mass. — Mike Henriques chased the back bumper of the leader for much of Friday’s 25-lap Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stock feature, but pounced when it mattered most. In a race that went without a yellow flag, Henriques charged to the lead and held off all challengers to pick up his first win of the season in the No. 03. Behind him, it was Bobby Bettencourt III on the podium in second, with defending champion Jared Cordeira in third. Driving the familiar No. 21 Bettencourt family colors, the young rising star led much of the race and nearly captured his first career win. Greg Perry and Brent Robidoux followed the top-three, posting finishes of fourth and fifth. Josh O’Hara, Ethan Souza, Danny Massa, Matthew Talbot and Timmy Ouellette rounded out the top-10. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks will be back on the track on Friday, June 14, for another 25-lap main event.
