![]() SEEKONK, Mass. — For the second time in 2022, Chase Belcher was celebrating in Victory Lane on Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway. Belcher used a few smooth moves in the beginning of the 30-lap feature and held off Mark Jension to score the win. By the halfway point, Belcher was inside the top three and racing Jeramme Lillie for the lead. He passed for the top spot on lap 20 and would never look back en route to the win. Jenison crossed the line second, while Paul Lallier, a former season winner, finished the podium in third. Richie Murray used a late move to grab himself a fourth-place finish while Lillie rounded out the top-five. Vinnie Arrenegado was sixth, followed by Brendon Hammann, John Silva, Kevin Bowe and Bill Goodrow. The Late Models will return to the track on Saturday, August 6 for a 45-lap feature in the final round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown. RACE TO THE PLAYOFFS HEATS UP WITH FAST FRIDAY, NASCAR SATURDAY AT SEEKONK SPEEDWAY THIS WEEKEND7/19/2022 ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. — As the race for the Seekonk Speedway Drive For The Cup inches closer, the Action Track of the East will return to racing this weekend, Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23. The weekend will include both Fast Friday and NASCAR Saturday racing, including the annual Rhode Island Shriners night with the clowns and the trike races on Saturday night. On NASCAR Saturday, Dave Darling edged Mike Brightman in the late laps of the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series last week, and will look to make it two in a row this Saturday night. Darling hadn’t won in over 300 days, but quickly put that to rest, while Brightman already has two wins on the season. It’s been quite the run of tough luck for Ryan Vanasse, but expect him to be a major contender during the 40-lap race this week. The Late Model division continues to impress, and they will be back this week with their own 30-lap feature. Seven-time track champion Gerry DeGasparre Jr. picked up his second win of the season last week from the middle of the pack, while Luke Lebrun and Mark Jenison joined him on the podium. Jenison and Lebrun haven’t won yet, and should be looked at as major contenders going into this week. Can Vinnie Arrenegado turn his efforts around this week? Will Richie Murray or Chase Belcher grab their second wins of the year? In the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman, Chad Baxter has returned too domination. With three straight wins, the defending champion is rolling through the pack like putting butter on bread. But will Craig Pianka get back to Victory Lane this week for the fourth time? Can someone like Doug Benoit or Tyler Almeida win their first race in the Sportsman? Will it be another contender out front after 25 laps? The Chaz Auto Body Sport Truck season has been filled with wildness, and after Rick Martin’s third win last week, it’s anyone’s game going into their 25-lap race this Saturday night. Names like Brittany Campbell, Barry Shaw Jr., Mike Cavallaro and Mike Duarte have already been to Victory Lane this year. Can Darryl Church or Amy Arsenault get their first wins of the year ? What about Jake Vanada? Saturday also includes the annual appearance by the Rhode Island Shriners clowns and the Trike Races. On Fast Friday, the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero divisions roar back to racing, both in the Bandits and the Outlaws. In the Bandits, only three different drivers have been to Victory Lane, with Darren Krantz Jr. returning to winning form last week, and Milania Shilosky and Ryan Vanasse Jr. also grabbing wins. Heading into this week, will a fourth driver add their name to the list? In the Outlaws, Chase Silvia has wins in six out of seven races, and although it may sound crazy to say, most of the other competitors have been close behind him. Andrew Gomes, Bradley Strickland and others have been in position, just haven’t been able to seal the deal. Look out for Adam “Hollywood” Harrison to break into Victory Lane before long as well. Your Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4 field has been filled with a diverse group of winners, opened by points leader Crystal Murray winning the first two races. Additional winners include Karlin Levesque, Jarrod Freitas, AJ Manuel and last week’s checkered flag holder Tyler Duhancik. Can Taylor Bowser boost from her podium finish last week into the winner’s circle this time around in their 25-lap feature? The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars field has been chasing Mason Tessier the last two weeks. Driving for Helger’s Racing, Tessier got off to a rough start in 2022, but in his words, “made a statement” last week grabbing his second straight. Can Devin Deshaies or Brendon Hammann return to their winning ways this week or will someone else capture the flag? Can Tessier do it for a third week in a row? In the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks, the field is wide open to get to Victory Lane. Ethan Souza scored his first win of the season last week, but Greg Perry, Mike Henriques, Danny Massa and others have also been to the winner’s circle. Will we see a repeat winner in their 25-lap feature or will someone new get to the top this week? Fast Friday racing begins at 7 p.m., while NASCAR Saturday takes the green flag at 6 p.m. Seekonk Speedway tickets for the 2022 are available online at SeekonkSpeedway.com today. Fans can purchase tickets ahead and skip the lines on race day, including for pit passes. Upcoming major events include the second annual Bay State Classic on Wednesday, July 27, headlined by the Pro All Star Series 150-lap, $10,000 to win race. The event will also include the $2,000 to win Nick Lascuola Racing Summer Showdown set for 35 laps and the PASS Modifieds. On Saturday, July 30, Seekonk celebrates the middle of the summer with the Midsummer Thrill Show. Early on in the 25-lap feature, it was Jake Vanada who found himself leading the field after making some impressive moves to the lead. It wasn’t long before Martin found himself behind Vanada, and not much sooner did it take for the 14 to be at the top of the scoreboard. Martin would go on to win in the Green-to-Checker Feature, with Mike Duarte and Brittany Campbell surrounding him on the podium following post-race inspection. Darryl Church followed in fourth and Barry Shaw Jr in fifth. Amy Arsenault, Tom Scully III, Marissa Morgan, Ethan Heilborn and John Silva finished the top-10. Mike Cavallaro, who wrecked in his heat race, came home 12th after Anastasia Lebrun lent her Truck to him to keep him in the points battle. The Chaz’s Auto Body Sport Trucks hit the track next Saturday, July 23rd for another 25-Lap Feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest updates. ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. -- Chad Baxter is back to his unbeatable self in the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman. Baxter captured his third consecutive win on Saturday night, charging through the pack to take down the victory after passing teammate Ryan Lineham inside the final 10 laps. Last year, Baxter dominated the division, winning the track title and also capturing the NASCAR Division III National Crown. This year, he struggled early with a different car, but has placed himself back at the front with the return of his old faithful No. 0. Adam Pettey would finish in the second spot, followed by three-time season winner Craig Pianka in third. Steve Axon and Randy Moretti rounded out the top-five. Doug Benoit finished sixth, followed by Ed Perry, Jimmy “Pepe” Silvia, Adam Giacomozzi and Ryan Lineham. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman will return to the track on Saturday, July 23, for another 25-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on Facebook for the latest updates. SEEKONK, Mass. — For the second time this season, seven-time Seekonk Speedway Late Model champion Gerry DeGasparre Jr celebrated in Victory lane on Saturday night. DeGasparre used a late, three-wide move to pass Mark Jenison and Luke Lebrun in the final laps to take down the victory. With just a few laps to go, it looked like Jenison was in control to score his first Late Model win of the year. However — DeGasparre got the caution he was looking for and slid to the bottom, passing both of them for the win. Lebrun finished in second, his best run at Seekonk in the Late Models to date, while Jenison led laps and finished in third. Richie Murray finished in the fourth spot, followed by Jacob Burns. Jeramee Lillie returned to the top-10 finishing in sixth, followed by Bill Woodrow, Vinnie Arrenegado, Reese Bogue and Kevin Bowe. The Late Models will return to the track on Saturday, July 23, for another 30-lap feature on Shriners night at the track. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest updates. ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. — For the first time in 308 days, Dave Darling was celebrating in Seekonk Speedway Victory Lane on Saturday night. Darling chased down Mike Brightman and passed the two-time season winner with just eight laps to go in the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown, capturing his first win of the season. Darling’s season hasn’t been filled with wins — but instead consistent finishes — as the eight-time champion leads the championship standings heading towards the playoffs. Brightman would finish second, nearly capturing his second straight Triple Crown win, while Tom Scully Jr drove through the field in the second half of the extra-distance event to finish in third. Colbey Fournier posted a strong fourth-place effort, while Bobby Pelland led laps early and rounded out the top-five. Darryl Stampfl placed sixth, an impressive run, while Kenny Spencer, Ted Urquhart, Mark Jenison and Tommy Adams finished the top-10 spots. The Pro Stocks will return to the track on Saturday, July 23, with another 40-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on Facebook for the latest updates. ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. — As the Action Track of the East hits the middle of the summer, racing will heat up this weekend with two nights of action set for Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16. Fast Friday returns to the track for another round, while NASCAR Saturday is also back for the first time in nearly one month as the battle towards the inaugural Seekonk Speedway Drive For The Cup Playoff system continues to inch closer. Fast Friday will be headlined by the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series for the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, while Saturday includes the second round of the Everett’s Triple Crown for the Pro Stocks, set for 60 laps, and a special appearance by the Troy City Tactical Spectator Drags. Fast Friday’s Legends Cars division has been competitive all year, and a special extra-distance race this week should be no different. Devin Deshaies has three wins, with Brendon Hammann close behind with two. Mason Tessier had a rough start to the year, but spun it back in his own direction last week, scoring his first win of the season. Additional drivers who haven’t won, but have been competitive, include Reese Bogue, Isaiah Newcomb, Brenden LaBelle and Josh Parsons. The second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series will help decide who makes the finale round for the Legends Cars, which is set for August 5. In the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks, Mike Henriques heads into the 25-lap feature this week fresh-off his first win of the season, with Greg Perry, a two-time feature winner, coming home in the runner-up spot last week. While those two have been strong, Danny Massa has a 10-point lead over Jeremy Lambert in the standings. Both of those drivers have been to Victory Lane — but the next two in the points battle — Sam Lincoln and Jordan Threllfall — would like to get there for the first time this Friday night. Both Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero divisions have been competitive all year, with the Outlaw division running through Chase Silvia in the first six weeks. Silvia has five wins behind the wheel of the No. 17, and has a comfortable lead over Andrew Gomes. However, with the new playoff system this year, all that matters is making the top six in the point standings in the Bandolero class. Currently, Mikey LeFort III leads Bobby Bettencourt III for the final playoff spot by four points, with Adam Harrison and Bradley Strickland just 8 points back. As the playoffs inch closer, will the Outlaw division be Seekonk’s closest battle to make it into the playoffs? The Bandit division has three different winners so far, with Darren Krantz Jr. winning the first three events, followed by two straight by Milania Shilosky and last weeks winner Ryan Vanasse Jr. Heading into their 15-lap feature this week, Sam Macedo, Collin Vanasse and Bryson Robidoux will all be looking for their first wins of the season, while RJ Murphy looks to repeat his podium last week and get even closer to the front. The Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4 division closed up last week when Crystal Murray had a tire failure, meaning she leads Jarrod Freitas and Tyler Duhancik by just six points. However, the battle for the top-8 spots is also competitive in this division. Stephanie Bruneau leads by six points over Justin Leduc, as the top-9 drivers seem to have separated themselves a bit from others. The Sport 4 division has multiple different winners so far, and names like Henry Lavallee and Duhancik could be adding their name this week. On NASCAR Saturday, the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman field has continued to impress fans this year, with Ed Perry, Craig Pianka and Chad Baxter all visiting Victory Lane so far. However — names like Doug Benoit, Tyler Almeida and Adam Pettey have been close to getting the job done. Baxter got his old faithful car back a few weeks ago and has multiple wins in a row under his belt leading into this weekend, but we will see if a two-week break changes things. The Pro Stocks will compete in the second round of their Everett’s Triple Crown, set for 60 laps, and it should be a close battle. In the first Triple Crown race, Mike Brightman barely held off Dave Darling, thrilling fans with a final 10 laps to remember. This time, will Darling get the edge? The eight-time track champion has yet to get to Victory Lane in 2022 as we hit the middle of July. Tommy Adams, Tom Scully Jr., Ryan Vanasse and others will look to make their own mark on this special event. The Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks are coming off their own two-week break, and as one of Seekonk’s most competitive divisions, their race for the playoffs is also close. Amy Arsenault leads Tom Scully III by just eight points for the final playoff spot, while the top-six drivers seem to have distanced themselves. Jake Vanada is seventh, just six points ahead of Arsenault. All three of them will look for their first wins of the season this week in the 25-lap feature on Saturday, trying to beat the likes of recent winner Brittany Campbell, Barry Shaw Jr., Mike Cavallaro, Rick Martin, Mike Duarte and others. In the Late Models, this division is coming off one of the more intense races in recent memory — a three-wide battle for the lead in the last round of the Triple Crown Series. Their 30-lap feature this week will be a battle between points leader Gerry DeGasparre Jr., Vinnie Arrenegado, Chase Belcher, Richie Murray and others. Saturday also includes another round of racing for the Troy City Tactical Spectator Drags — their second straight weekend of action. Early in their season, Richie Johnson leads the points battle over Mike Vincent and Joe Defarias. Fast Friday racing begins at 7 p.m., while NASCAR Saturday takes the green flag at 6 p.m. Tickets for both nights are available in advance at SeekonkSpeedway.com and will also be available at the track on race day. Tickets for all of the 2022 Seekonk Speedway events are also available online. Seekonk Speedway has multiple major events coming up including the second annual Bay State Classic on Wednesday, July 27, worth $10,000 to win with the Pro All Star Series in town. The Midsummer Thrill Show is also scheduled for Saturday, July 30. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest updates. Seekonk Speedway would like to make fans, teams and competitors aware of the opportunties available to them with online digital passes for entry to the track this season. Through SeekonkSpeedway.com, fans can purchase grandstand admission passes online and put them into their Apple Wallet or print them at home, where they can use them to get in at the track on race day. The same goes for teams, drivers and crew members in the pit area. Pit passes are available in advance on the ticketing platform for purchase. The process is simple: patrons should go online to SeekonkSpeedway.com, click on tickets, and create an account through the software. Once the account has been created, purchase pit passes for respective events you are going to be attending. Upon completing purchase, a link will be sent to your email address with the passes. When opening the link, be sure to add them to your Apple Wallet, or print them at home, to bring with you on race day. This includes for pit passes. Fans or teams that complete this step will be able to skip the lines on race day and avoid delays getting into the track. This also works for teams who would like to purchase passes for their entire team or a few crew members. Upon purchasing the passes, you are able to forward them into someone else’s email address name and they will be able to access them for themselves. This is especially important for Touring Series shows such as the Pro All Star Series or Tri-Track Open Modified Series. Drivers and car owners can purchase passes for themselves and their crew and send them to the respective parties. In order to purchase pit passes on race day for anyone other than just one person, all parties must be there at the time to sign and collect their pit passes. No lists will be created for crew members who are coming at a later time. Seekonk Speedway does appreciate your understanding in this evolution into the digital age. Anyone with questions is encouraged to call the office at 508-336-9559 and ask for Dawn for assistance. You can also visit SeekonkSpeedway.com today to collect tickets for all events during the season and find the latest information on the track. ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. -- Johnny Clark and Seekonk Speedway seem to be the perfect fit lately. Clark picked up his third Pro All Star Series (PASS) win in four Seekonk races on Saturday night, dominating the final half of the 150-lap race to take the impressive victory. Early in the race, two former Seekonk track champions — Angelo Belsito and Nick Lascuola — seemed to be in contention for the win. Belsito led much of the middle stages of the race but spun off turn four and had to go to the rear. Clark battled Eddie MacDonald hard for the lead with 50 laps to go, but he was not going to be denied. Clark rolled to the win, holding off Belsito — who charged all the way back through the field to finish in second. MacDonald, who had a flat tire late, charged back through himself to finish in third. Wayne Halliwell Jr. and Gabe Brown finished the top-five. Ryan Kuhn was sixth, followed by Brandon Barker, Garrett Hall, Ben Ashline and Derek Gluchacki. The Seekonk Speedway Pro Stock division will return to the track on Saturday, July 9. The NASCAR Saturday divisions will be off on July 2. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media. ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. -- Two weeks ago, Chad Baxter got the car back that he had dominated with at Seekonk Speedway in 2021. Two races in, he has two victories with it in 2022. Baxter made a late move to pass Randy Moretti for the lead on Saturday, June 25, picking up the victory in the 25-lap main event, as the defending champion is back in prime form. Moretti led most of the race, but a caution in the final laps slowed the action and the battle was on up front. Moretti spun the tires just a bit from the lead, and Baxter, who had charged from 10th all the way to the outside of the front row, took full advantage, taking the lead. Baxter would hang on for the win, besting Ed Perry and Adam Petty at the finish. Kyle Casper crossed the line fourth, while Ryan Lineham was behind him, rounding out the top-five. Doug Benoit finished sixth, followed by Moretti, Scott Serydysnki Jr., Tyler Almeida and Craig Pianka. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman will return to the track on Saturday, July 9. The NASCAR Saturday divisions will be off on July 2. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media. |
