SEEKONK, Mass. — It’s been something everyone knew would happen, it was just a matter of when. Friday night at Seekonk Speedway was the night for Nick Uhrig Jr. The driver of the No. 11 put together an impressive performance in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits, leading the entire race to pick up his first career win. Not only did Uhrig score his first win, he did it in a race that included a mid-race break due to Mother Nature. The field stopped after a caution on lap two due to some rain at the track, then finished off their race after the Sport 4 feature. In the end, it didn’t matter for Uhrig, he was carrying the checkered flag. Defending division champion Sam Macedo finished second in the race with Mike Hanafin in third. Jace Chaber made his Seekonk debut in the No. 00 to score a strong fourth-place finish while Mason Silva was fifth. Ryder Aguiar, Carl Satterlund Jr., Luka Dib and Parker Davis finished off the results. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws will return to the track on Friday, June 24 with another main event, set for 15 laps. Seekonk Speedway is ready to roar back to life this weekend with a triple-header of action, including Fast Friday, NASCAR Saturday and the first Monster Trucks show of the season on Sunday. Fast Friday returns with five divisions, while NASCAR Saturday has four, and the Monster Trucks on Sunday includes the thrills and spills of the monsters around the Seekonk third-mile, an event fans will not want to miss. The Monster Trucks return on Sunday for their first of two shows for 2023. The show begins at 2 p.m., and includes the East Coast Towing Spectator Drags along with multiple Trucks including Stinger Unleashed, Shock Wave and more. It’s the perfect way to spend Father’s Day with your family, especially for the kids. Sunday’s Monster Truck show will include a free pit party for Monster Trucks and Spectator Drags from 11:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday’s racing will be held with Youth Sports Night and Military Night at the track. All youth sports teams are encouraged to join Seekonk Speedway in celebrating the summer season at the races, while Military Night, rescheduled from the May 20 rainout, will give teams and fans the chance to honor those who have been lost serving our great country and those who continue to serve. The Pro Stocks are back for just their third race of the season Saturday night, this time the first round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, set for 60 laps. It’s been one year since Mike Brightman held off Dave Darling in a thrilling finish to the Pro Stock Triple Crown, and he will be back on track looking to do the same this week. Names like current points leader and defending champion Mark Jenison, winner Dylan Estrella, Rick Martin, Tommy Adams and more will contest the main event at the end of a full night of racing. Prior to the Pro Stocks, the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman will hit the track for their fourth race of 2023, with Steve Axon coming off a second straight victory in a wild finish with Chad Baxter. The two raced side-by-side to the finish, inches apart last week in their Triple Crown opener. Baxter has yet to win in the first three events, and will be a favorite for this week along with Adam Pettey, who has three podium finishes in three races. The full division lineup is set for 25 laps. The Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks also is a division with one driver coming off two straight wins. Jake Vanada picked up the victory in the 35-lap Triple Crown opener last week, just about one month after winning race two of the season. Rick Martin and Mike Duarte have been impressive in the Trucks so far, finishing inside the top-five in both races. And in the Late Models, former Legends Cars champion Luke Lebrun looks to make it two straight. Names like Jacob “Rowdy” Burns, Vinnie Arrenegado, Chase Belcher, Connor Souza, Richie Murray and many others will compete in a 30-lap feature on Saturday night. One more thing of note about Saturday — Seekonk Speedway will open the pit area to race fans at the conclusion of practice each week. Fans can come into the pit area and walk around and meet their favorite drivers before leaving the pits after the driver meeting in time for racing to begin. Fast Friday is coming off a rainout and back with a full card of five divisions on tap, including two Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series races. The Sport 4’s and Pure Stocks will go the extra-distance, both for 30 laps. In the Sport 4’s, Mikey LeFort and Jarrod Freitas have been to Victory Lane, with names like Crystal Murray, Taylor Bowser, Richie Johnson and others off to good starts with top-five runs. The Pure Stocks are all chasing Scott Cestodio, who won both of their first two events. Names like Mike Henriques, Danny Massa, Greg Perry, Ethan Souza, Nick Brightman and others have also shown plenty of speed. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws will both be on track for 15 laps, while the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars are also on the card. Ryan Vanasse Jr. and Brent Robidoux split the first two Outlaw races, coming to the line just inches apart in race two. In the Bandits, Parker Davis has won both races. The Legends Cars had a rough and tumble first race, but rebounded with a strong second week. Brenden LaBelle and Jacob Burns are the two Legends Cars winners so far.

SEEKONK, Mass. — After a tough first week, the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars returned to the track on Friday night for another 25-lap feature, and it looked like a different division. They ran the entire distance without a caution flag and at the end, Jacob “Rowdy” Burns held off a hard-charging Isaiah Newcomb to take the feature win. Burns jumped out to the lead quickly, while Newcomb had to work his way through the field. Their paths crossed with just under five laps to go, when Newcomb closed to the back bumper in the race for the lead. He tried everything he could to get around, but couldn’t quite make the move. Burns would win, with Newcomb finishing second and Josh Parsons charging to the front to finish in third. Nicholaus Bulkeley, Mason Tessier and Richie Helger Jr. were not far behind them at the finish. The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars will return to the track on Friday, June 9 for another race. SEEKONK, Mass. — Driving the Richie Helger Racing No. 13, Mikey LeFort charged to the front of the field quickly in Friday’s 25-lap Sport 4 race. He had to hold off Jarrod Freitas, the opening day winner, in the final few laps, but wasn’t going to let that stop him from getting back to Victory Lane.
LeFort’s charge to the front came from the middle of the pack, but it didn’t take him long. He took the lead and looked to be cruising, but Freitas was closing fast and making it a race. However, a caution with just two laps to go slowed the field and gave LeFort a chance to drive away. On the restart, he did just that, getting to Victory Lane. Freitas ended with a strong second-place finish, while Crystal Murray rebounded from a tough first week to finish third. Behind her, Henry Lavallee and Richie Johnson finished in the top-five spots. Taylor Bowser was sixth, followed by Daniel Hayes, Jacob Budznya, Christine Cavallaro and DJ Thibeault. The Sport 4’s will return to the track on Friday, June 9 for another race. SEEKONK, Mass. — After a few years of coming close to Victory Lane, Brendan LaBelle made it clear Friday night was going to be his night in the opener of the 2023 Seekonk Fast Friday season in the Nick's Pit Stop Legends Cars. LaBelle quickly made his way to the front of the race, passing for the lead on lap nine in a tight battle with Josh Parsons.
Before long, the two were racing hard for the lead in a clean battle that thrilled a strong crowd on opening night. During a caution late, LaBelle would jump back to control on the restart and never look back, winning the race by a comfortable margin. After a wreck at the finish line, Nicholaus Bulkelely finished in second spot, with Ty LeClerc rebounding for some mid-race trouble to finish in third. Kevin Davis rounded out the 25-lap feature in fourth and Zachary Martinez, who wrecked across the line, finished in fifth. The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars will return to the track on Friday, June 2 for another feature. SEEKONK, Mass. — When Scott Cestodio registered to compete in a full-time season in the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks in 2023, everyone knew he was going to be a contender. The former Pure Stock frontrunner took many years off from racing full-time in the division, but returned in a big way Friday night, driving the championship car from last season in the Lambert Racing stable into Victory Lane. Cestodio restarted to the outside of Greg Perry on lap 20, after Perry had paced the field from the beginning. However, at the green, Perry had an issue with the car and it wouldn’t turn. The caution would come out, Perry would go into the pits, and Cestodio would end up in the lead. On the final restart, he drove away from a tight battle for second between Ethan Souza and Mike Henriques, with Souza coming out on top and Henriques following in third after 25 laps. Jared Cordeira opened the season with a strong fourth-place finish and Josh Badach scored a career best fifth. Sam Lincoln was sixth, followed by Matt Talbot, Danny Massa, Tim Ouellette and Don Courtemanche. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks will return to the track on Friday, June 2 for another feature. SEEKONK, Mass. — Last year, Jarrod Freitas blasted onto the scene in the Sport 4 division, becoming a frontrunner and scoring his first career win. In the opener of the 2023 Fast Friday season for the division on Friday night, he made it clear he isn’t going anywhere. Freitas passed Henry Lavallee for the top spot just after halfway, then held on to score his second career Sport 4 win. Lavallee took the lead from polesitter Taylor Bowser using the outside lane on lap 3, and led the field for the next 11 laps, until Freitas took control on lap 15. As the laps counted down, Mikey LeFort, driving the Richie Helger Racing entry, worked his way from the back of the field and finished in second spot, passing for the position on the final lap. Lavallee would finish third, with Bowser and Richie Johnson finishing the top-five spots. Daniel Hayes was sixth, followed by Christine Cavallaro, Sam Mattera, Andrew Rittman and Garrett Kuhn. The Sport 4’s will return to the track on Friday, June 2 for another feature. SEEKONK, Mass. — The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits took to the track for the first feature of the 2023 Fast Friday season, and after 15 laps of racing, Parker Davis was celebrating in Victory Lane. Driving the No. 14, Davis ran second early in the race, while Sam Macedo paced the field. However, close to the halfway point, Macedo had problems with the No. 16, sidelining him from the action while in the lead. Davis inherited the top spot and never looked back to the finish. He held off Mike Hanafin, who scored a career best second-place finish, and Luka Dib, who also posted his best career effort, a third-place finish. Nick Uhrig Jr. finished in the fourth spot, while Carl Satterlund Jr. made his Seekonk Speedway debut and finished fifth. Ryder Aguiar, Mason Silva and Macedo rounded out the opening night field for Seekonk’s youngest competitors. Vanasse took the lead and dominated the second half of the season-opening 15-lap feature on Friday night, taking the car to Victory Lane.
While he did that, fellow Vanasse family member (his cousin), Collin Vanasse, tried to chase him down in the final laps, looking for his first career win. It was Ryan who crossed the finish line first, with Collin second and Brent Robidoux coming home a strong third.
