SEEKONK RETURNS TO VIRTUAL RACING THURSDAY NIGHT
SEEKONK, Mass. — After a month off, and with real-life racing yet to take the green flag in competition to this point, Seekonk Speedway returns to virtual racing Thursday night with the continuation of the Seekonk Speedway iRacing Road Trip Tour. The fourth of eight championship points events will take competitors to The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway at 7:30 p.m., live and free for fans to watch on Speed51.com.
The Gamblers 150 presented by Viper Graphics marks the halfway point in the Road Trip Tour championship battle, which heats up heading for the stretch. With a champion set to be crowned in October, Seekonk drivers have plenty of time to fight for a point fund of over $1,000 in prize money. After three events, real-life spotter Brandon Wilkinson holds a two-point lead over Ryan Kuhn. Both drivers have been to Victory Lane on the Road Trip Tour so far, with Wilkinson winning the opener at Lanier, and Kuhn going back-to-back at Southern National Motorsports Park and Irwindale Speedway.
Thursday’s Gamblers 150 is sponsored by Viper Graphics, located in Seekonk, Massachusetts. Viper does vinyl wraps, signs, screen printing, embroidery and more, by designing, printing and applying all graphics in-house. With over 30 years of design and printing experience, Viper can take on any project — no job is too big or too small.
“We can’t thank Viper Graphics enough for coming on board and supporting the Seekonk family,” Ed St. Germain, Seekonk’s Director of Business Development, said. “Although we can’t get the green flag for competition in real-life quite yet, we hope that is coming next month. We’re looking forward to continuing our iRacing Road Trip Tour with one race per month for the rest of the season.”
Thursday’s event at The Bullring will bring drivers out West to Las Vegas, at one of the more difficult tracks to master on the iRacing service. As all of the other events have done, the race will use fixed setups with the Super Late Model, and the race will run for 150 laps.
The entry list for the event includes former Seekonk track champions, successful iRacing competitors and more. Track champions Kuhn, Richie Murray, Jake Matheson and Reese Bogue are all expected to attend, while names like Wilkinson, Ryan Doucette, Richard Regan Jr., Tom Scully III, Trent Goodrow and more will also compete. The list also includes crew members from a mix of Seekonk’s eight divisions.
Outside of Viper Graphics, multiple contingency partners continue to support the iRacing Road Trip Tour.  Other contingency sponsors on the program include Watermark Electric, Team V Racing, Route 6 Auto Mall Kia, A&A Auto Parts, Atlantic Yacht Rigging, Anchor Paws Rescue, Trent Goodrow Designs, Bernier’s Liquors, Helger’s Southcoast Power Equipment and Lucas Milhaupt.
In real-life, Seekonk Speedway has opened the facility with steps one and two of the reopening plan, which includes private track rental and practice sessions. Seekonk is hopeful that Fast Friday racing can begin in July, with no fans in attendance, and Saturday night racing won’t be far behind.
