Taking the next lap….
Seekonk Speedway is pleased to announce we will release the beginning of our reopening plan for the 2020 racing season tomorrow!
We have been working closely with all local government and public health officials, along with the state of Massachusetts, to put together a plan that is going to keep all of our dedicated race teams, drivers, fans and staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Seekonk Speedway realizes the risks involved with the coronavirus and we will take every precaution to keep our patrons safe during this season. Our reopening plan will do everything possible to keep everyone safe, but also get some racing back on the track for our dedicated race teams and fans.
Seekonk Speedway wishes to thank State Representative and former NASCAR competitor Jim Hawkins, State Representative Steven Howitt and State Senator Paul Feeney for their assistance and guidance in the re-opening of Seekonk Speedway. We would also like to thank Governor Charlie Baker for his guidance that has helped keep the residents of Massachusetts safe, while we safely re-open the commonwealth.
This plan will not be a rapid layout of getting back to racing with fans in the stands. Instead, it will be a safe, calculated, process that will keep everyone safe and give everyone the chance to hit the track in 2020 in a timely fashion. We will follow all health and safety guidelines and those will be top priority to keep everyone safe.
The wait to see race cars circle the track and smell race fuel is almost over. Check back tomorrow morning for more information about our step one and two of reopening!
