SEEKONK, Mass. — With COVID-19 delaying the start of the racing season in New England, Seekonk Speedway is pleased to join the list of tracks ready to move to the esports platform and compete on iRacing. This Saturday, March 28, Seekonk will run the inaugural Seekonk 250 race at the virtual Oxford Plains Speedway. The race will take the green flag just after 4 p.m. and will air live, for free, on Speed51.com. The link will be shared on Seekonk’s Facebook page tomorrow afternoon for those fans looking to watch.
The race will be contested with iRacing’s version of the Pro Stocks (Super Late Models), a division that Seekonk spearheaded in the late 1970s, and still runs weekly as part of NASCAR Saturday. Drivers will have a fixed iRacing Pro Stock setup to use, and will qualify through heat races in the morning prior to the broadcast. A total of 62 drivers will attempt to qualify for 33 spots.
