SEEKONK, Mass. — Tom Scully Jr. charged to the front of the 40-lap Pro Stock feature on Saturday, September 18, taking down his second win of the season in dominating fashion behind the wheel of the No. 2 machine. Scully took the lead from Kenny Spencer just before halfway, then drove into the sunset, besting the rest of the field by over 1.5-seconds to take down the impressive victory.
While Scully won, Dylan Estrella scored another podium finish in second, with Ryan Lineham, Spencer and Rick Martin finishing the top-five spots.
The other story of the night was Dave Darling, who didn’t win or finish in the top-five for the first time in what felt like forever — but he clinched a track record eighth championship with his eighth-place finish. In the 75-year history of racing action at Seekonk, no driver had ever won eight titles before.
The championship points schedule for the Pro Stocks has concluded, however, some of the drivers will elect to run with the Pro All Star Series Super Late Models next Saturday, September 24 at the annual Fall Classic, scheduled for 150 laps.
