SEEKONK, Mass. — Gerry DeGasparre Jr. would be the first to tell you that the summer stretch didn’t pan out well for him, however, on Saturday, August 28, he put all of it behind him. DeGasparre started fifth in the 30-lap Everett’s Auto Parts Late Model feature, took the lead on lap eight, and never looked back.
The final laps were exciting — as Chase Belcher wheeled from the rear of the field to the front, taking second with under five laps to go and chasing DeGasparre down. With three to go, Belcher found his way to the inside, but DeGasparre was able to slam the door shut. Unfortunately for Belcher, that ended the momentum he had, and forced him to settle for second, while the seven-time track champion went back to Victory Lane.
Ryan Souliere finished an impressive third, his best career run, while Richie Murray and Josh Hedges returned to the top-five for the third straight week. Vinnie Arrenegado was sixth, followed by Jacob Burns, Charlie Rose, Jerammee Lillie and Mark Hudson.
The Everett’s Auto Parts Late Models will return to the track on Saturday, September 11, after a week off. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit and follow the track on social media for the latest updates.
