SEEKONK, Mass. — It felt like it had been forever since Mike Henriques had been to Everett’s Auto Parts Victory Lane, but on Friday, July 30, the driver of the No. 03 erased all of the memory and parked his car with the trophy in his hand.
Henriques, who rolled from the outside of the front row in the 25-lap feature, took the lead from his teammate and good friend Greg Perry on lap 13, and led the final half of the race en route to victory in the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks.
While Henriques was able to slide past Perry, the driver of the No. 0 wasn’t about to give an inch in the race for the lead. Perry chased the back bumper of the Henriques machine over the final portion of the race, giving a friendly tap a few times, just to let him know he wasn’t giving up. But, when the checkered flag went in the air, it was Henriques over Perry, with former season winner Timmy Ouellette finishing in third.
Danny Massa was fourth, adding his fifth top-five finish in six races, with Jordan Threlfall in fifth. Curtis Rolondo was sixth, followed by Ethan Souza, Joey Morrissette, Sam Lincoln and Jeremy Lambert.
The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks return to the track for another 25-lap feature on Friday, August 6. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.
