SEEKONK, Mass. — Four years later, Ryan Flood found his way back to Victory Lane at Seekonk Speedway. The driver of the No. 98 Everett’s Auto Parts Late Model started at the front of the field in the 30-lap feature on Saturday, September 11, and never looked back en route to his first career win in the Division II class.
In a race that took just under seven minutes to complete, Flood jumped out front right away, and there wasn’t much question that he was going to be the man to beat. However, with a few laps to go, Bobby Tripp closed the gap and tapped the back bumper, looking to find a way around. Some thought it would be Tripp taking it away, but in the end, Flood was able to celebrate. The former Sportsman winner moved up to the Late Models and has been consistent all year.
Tripp finished second, while points leader Vinnie Arrenegado was third, Chase Belcher fourth and Jacob Burns fifth. Ryan Souliere was sixth, followed by Gerry DeGasparre Jr., Richie Murray, Trent Goodrow and Tyler Lallier.
The Everett’s Auto Parts Late Models will return to the track on Saturday, September 18, with just two races left in the season. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.
