FLAG-TO-FLAG: Extra Cash On the Line For Clean Racing on Fast Friday in 2021

SEEKONK, Mass. — Caution flags are part of racing — but if extra cash is any incentive for drivers, there might be a few less slowdowns as part of the Fast Friday schedule at Seekonk Speedway in 2021. As part of a new Flag-To-Flag Challenge, drivers will be chasing a bonus of $100 in each Fast Friday event. If the race goes under the green flag for the entire distance, the winner of the race will be given an extra $100 towards the feature winnings.
Courtesy of sponsors, including Newcomb’s Tree Service and Bob’s Sunoco, the winner of the caution-free race would receive the money. There will also be a random draw to be conducted in victory lane, which will give a finisher between second place and last a $50 bonus. For extra-distance races, sponsorship opportunities may grow and allow the bonus to be even more than $100.
“I think the Flag-To-Flag Challenge will help drivers greatly in many ways,” Josh Parsons, driver in the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, and multiple-time Seekonk feature winner, said. “It will push the drivers to run the races clean and make all competitors think twice before making a move that might cause a caution. I feel like this will improve the racing on the track. Giving drivers a little bit of extra incentive for there to be clean driving is always a plus.”
Newcomb’s Tree Service knows that safe, healthy and beautiful trees enhance the quality of life. Improper tree care can significantly reduce the value of property, cause hazardous tree condition and even kill valuable trees. You can visit them online at newcombstree.com for more.

Seekonk Speedway’s Fast Friday divisions include the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws, Seekonk’s two youth divisions that showcase the rising stars of the Action Track of the East. Each Friday will also have the entry-level Sport 4 and Pure Stock divisions, along with the INEX Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars.
“We encourage our drivers to race clean on a weekly basis, but this will add some extra incentive to their plate, extra cash for the racer is always a positive,” Ed St. Germain, Director of Business Development for Seekonk Speedway, said. “We’re looking forward to another busy season of Fast Friday racing, this time with fans in the grandstands.”
Seekonk Speedway’s 75th full-time season of racing is slated to begin on Sunday, May 2, at 2PM. Additional information around capacity restrictions and online ticket sales will be released in the near future. Stay tuned to seekonkspeedway.com and social media channels for more information.
