SEEKONK, Mass. — Darren Krantz Jr., of Huntington Station, New York, made his return after a couple of weeks absence and made his presence known — picking up his second win of the season in commanding fashion on Friday night.

Krantz made his way to the front throughout the opening laps of the race, before taking command from the No. 8 of Ethan Dion on a lap five restart to win the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit feature.

The Fast Friday program continued with its first race in the month of September, still without fans due to COVID-19 restrictions from the state of Massachusetts.

The 15-lap race was slowed by a few early cautions, before Krantz took control and pulled out to a sizeable lead over Dion, the No. 22 of Joel Newcomb, and previous winner Richie Helger Jr. As the laps wound down, Krantz continued to distance himself from his competition, while Helger was working his way to the front, first passing Newcomb for third. Then, with a last lap pass on Dion, Helger would take second at the finish, behind Krantz. Dion was third, followed by Newcomb and Brent Robidoux.

The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits will continue the 2020 season next Friday, September 11, with the first green flag of the evening at 7pm.
