HOVEY DOMINATES FOR THREE STRAIGHT

Nicholas Hovey took a fifth place start, thanks to his winning the first two runs on the season. But he wound his way to second on lap four, then dueled leader Devin Deshaies for four laps and finally grabbed the front just past mid-point of the Banditos’ 15-lap feature. He clung to that position the rest of the way to the checkers, while Deshaies hung tough for second. Nathan Smith, Teddy Welch and Riley Caron rounded out the top five. Deshaies came off the pole, leaving Smith and grabbing the full lead out of turn two while behind...

DICK BENOIT SEIZES THE WIN IN SPORTSMAN FEATURE

DICK BENOIT SEIZES THE WIN IN SPORTSMAN FEATURE Tom “The Bomb” Adams came on hot in the second half to capture the Sportsman 30 lap feature. However, he ran afoul of the rules during post-race inspection and the win was then awarded to hard-charging Dick Benoit who had battled his way to second place – and the win on the evening. Benoit had to chase Adams and Rob Murphy for half the race before Adams took over on lap 16 as Murphy’s bad luck threw the driveshaft out of his car, eliminating him from the feature. Benoit came up...

ROSE WINS 21-LAP BRAWL WITH ESTRELLA

Charlie Rose showed guts and determination in winning his second feature race of the season, a trial in which he spent 21 laps battling it out with Late Model champ, Dylan Estrella. The first seven were to climb out of second and replace Estrella in the lead, then another fourteen holding the champ at bay to the finish line. The final lap saw him concerned as Nick Johnson slashed his way past Estrella to take a good look at Charlie. But Rose was determined and held them both off for the trip to Victory Lane. The plucky Johnson...

LOUGEE CAPTURES FIRST WIN ON SEASON

David Lougee led from the green to the checkers and gathered in his first win of the season, stubbornly staying in the lead, aided by the fact that the race suffered only two cautions, one on the first lap and the other so late that it saw a green-white-checkered restart. This gave Lougee a long run at the front in the clear air. Chase Belcher, meanwhile, picked his way from a seventh place start to second. He did this by setting Mike Lopes back to third during the final two laps following the restart. Fourth went to last...

BATMAN GRABS BIG LEGENDS WIN

BATMAN GRABS BIG LEGENDS WIN   Brandon “BATMAN” Marinez set aside the cowl and the cape and roared from twelfth to the front, ending in a green-white-checkered restart with Derek Gluchacki, Ryan Kuhn and TJ Thompson. Gluchacki, who had led the bulk of the race but started to loosen up and had Batman’s sister, Shileigh Martinez on his bumper, trying every trick to get by him. As they battled door-to-door, Brandon suddenly discovered a hole underneath and seized the opportunity: shooting under and into the lead. Gluchacki loosened up again and Shileigh ducked under to give chase to brother...
