MORGAN OUTLASTS LEVESQUE BY INCHES FOR 600 WIN Marissa Morgan out-dueled Karlin Levesque over the nine closing laps of the SYRA 600 feature for a .010-second hairsbreadth margin. It was a big win with double points in the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown feature. They had run wheel-to-wheel, exchanging the lead since charging out of the box on a lap- eleven restart in the 20-lap feature. Trenton Goodrow completed the race in third followed by Luke LeBrun and Scott Serydynski, Jr. Morgan started on the front, outside polesitter Ava Chouinard and they went side-by-side down the front as Evan Marchand jumped in underneath Chouinard for a three-wide at the front. Goodrow was the outside car in the mix. Into the first lap, Morgan led Marchand, Goodrow and Chouinard who had Serydynski on the outside. But Marchand got into the grass in turn two of the second circuit. He tried to fight back onto the oval, but lost traction on the grass and spun. Morgan and Goodrow lined up with Serydynski and Chouinard behind them. Morgan nabbed the lead with Serydynski capturing second over Goodrow while Levesque moved into fourth, then under Goodrow to third. Morgan edged into a one-car lead and the field stretched out into a tight single file until Levesque looked outside Serydynski on the backstretch but was denied and Goodrow attempted to run underneath him. Morgan continued to lead as Serydynski, Levesque, Goodrow and LeBrun ran a tight line behind her. By lap 10, she was eight cars up on them. But LeBrun spun in the middle of the backstretch on lap eleven, bringing out the yellow...

This Week at the Action Track of the East!

This Week at the Action Track of the East!

This weekend at the Seekonk Speedway we are wrapping up the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series for one of our divisions. That will come on Saturday evening, but let us begin with Friday. After a week off because of Mother Nature raining on our parade last week, we are back in action ending the month of July with a bang. Round two of the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series for the Pure Stocks will take center stage. That race was scheduled for last Friday evening but with the weather has been moved to this week, giving us three Triple Crown Series races on the night. The Pure Stock Triple Crown Series has seen one race so far and Amy Arsenault put her Chaz’s Auto Body No. 9 machine into victory lane in thrilling fashion and currently holds the point standings lead in the division as well. Arnsenault has had some strong seasons in the past but never quite been able to seal the deal when it comes to the championship chase. Could this be the year a lady takes the Pure Stock title? Round two for the SYRA 600 and the SYRA 750 will also get underway on Friday evening. Even though both races will have double points and double the glory up for grabs, the distance will remain the same. SYRA drivers will be competing in 20 lap features with their normal 8 lap heats on Friday evening. Don’t forget… Each of the divisions still have round three before a champion can be decided. The Nick’s Pit Stop Legend Cars and Sport 4 will also be in action...

Murphy, Mitchell, Hutchins Jr & Belsito Grab Feature Wins on Everett’s Night!

MURPHY OUTRUNS JOHNSON FOR TRUCKS WIN Rob Murphy’s form remained good as he worked his way from a sixth place start to the front for another win. The current champ moved into third on lap six, behind rookie contender Dan Johnson, who was dueling for the lead with Murphy’s teammate Chase Belcher. That contest went Johnson’s way on lap eight, leaving Murphy to contend for second. They ran first-second-third for nine more laps before Murphy took over second. A dogfight for the front ensued but 2 laps later, Johnson grudgingly gave way, giving Murphy the lead with six laps remaining. Johnson and Belcher continued, notching second and third, respectively, while John Paiva and points leader Mike Cavallaro rounded out the top five. Eric LeBrun jumped off the pole ahead of Johnson and Belcher leapt in underneath, setting Johnson back to third. Cavallaro held third, but Murphy edged past on lap two as Belcher got under LeBrun to steal the front. By lap four, Belcher had a 12-car lead and Johnson was past LeBrun into second. Murphy then went under to edge him out of third as he struggled with the freight train going backwards on the outside. Next to take advantage was Cavallaro. LeBrun’s unhappy slide only ended after Mike Duarte and John Paiva had stormed by rendering him sixth. Lap five saw Darryl Dutch and Russ Borges get together, ending up nose-to-nose in turn four, bringing caution. Belcher and Johnson took the front with Murphy low behind them. Belcher ran hard out of the box and Johnson dropped into second ahead of Murphy. Cavallaro was fourth. Paiva...

LaMothe, Murphy, Lebrun, Caddick & Levesque Nail Fast Friday Wins!

LAMOTHE TAKES FOURTH WIN, NOTCHES TRIPLE CROWN SLOT Jordan Lamothe added to his three early season wins with a big victory in the second round of the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown, taking the lead after a lap-15 restart, depriving Ryan Kuhn who had led the initial 23 circuits in the 30-lap feature. He also surprised Brandon Martinez, who had shown as the hot pursuer and had lined up outside Kuhn for the restart. But Lamothe was inside Brandon Hammond in the second row. Kuhn ran wheel-to-wheel with Martinez, then pulled ahead. Martinez dropped into second ahead of Lamothe, Jake Johnson, Ray Parent, Jr. and Chris Robbins. Lamothe looked underneath, but Martinez slammed the door. Kuhn worked out to a three-car lead as Lamothe got under Martinez and into second. A lap later, Lamothe had closed on the leader and the lead trio ran nose-to-tail. Lamothe then nosed under into the lead. Martinez followed into second. Lamothe was able to hold onto the lead through four more restarts in the caution-filled feature to claim the victory. Johnson moved up to second, and TJ Thompson moved into third. Hammond and Martinez were fourth and fifth, respectively. Kuhn came off the pole at the start, and rocketed away. Parent got under Joey Lembo for second but Thompson, who started low on the third row, roared up and tapped Parent’s rear bumper, putting Thompson into a turn 4 spin. The race restart saw Kuhn away very fast and Parent under Lembo for second as a four-wide situation opened up at mid-pack. Kuhn had all the boosters blasting as he went out to a...
