It’s another night of racing you’re not going to want to miss! Purse for the Everett’s Auto Parts 100 Lapper! Ah… Another weekend of action packed racing is ahead of us at the Seekonk Speedway. Last weekend we saw a rough Fast Friday for all of our divisions. It was hot outside for the fans and even hotter inside the cars for the drivers and the tempers showed in some of the divisions. We had a rough Triple Crown Race two for the Legend Cars, but Jordan Lamothe came out on top so congrats go out to him and the team. This week at Seekonk Speedway we have both Fast Friday and Super Saturday taking center stage with some exciting feature events on both nights. Friday night we will see round two of the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series for the Pure Stock class. They have seen some great battles all season long and come off what was one of the best battles for the lead in recent memory. Mark Murphy and Chad Baxter crossed each other over a few times and battled door-to-door hard until Murphy was able to edge out. Even though he had a tough couple of weeks to start the season he came back strong and should be a factor this week with extra...
Estrella, Bruneau, Astle & Paiva pick up NWAAS Wins!

Estrella, Bruneau, Astle & Paiva pick up NWAAS Wins!

ESTRELLA GRABS CHECKERS FOR FIRST LATE MODEL REPEAT WIN Dylan Estrella worked his way forward to again spoil a long run at the front by Mark Hudson. This came enroute to Estrella breaking the standoff in repeat winners in the division, which has stood through May, June and into July. Charlie Rose worked the final ten laps to gather in yet another second place finish, just ahead of Bobby Pelland III. The three-four finish keeps Rose and Pelland in first and second in points in the closest points spread among speedway divisions. Hudson held on for fourth while last week’s winner, Gerry DeGasparre, Jr., claimed fifth. Hudson came off the pole into the lead as Vinny Arrenegado slid under outside polesitter Jeramee Lillie. Lillie fired it up and tried to push back alongside Hudson but remained alongside Arrenegado. But the duo rubbed fenders and Lillie loosened, heading him back along the outside. Arrenegado took over second while Estrella got under Lillie. As Estrella moved ahead, Rose pulled underneath. Lap three saw Hudson, Arrenegado and Estrella leading with Rose ahead of Nick Uhrig who was holding Lillie outside. Pelland awaited the two-stack to break down with DeGasparre on his bumper followed by Austin Blais. Hudson ran out to a four-car lead as Estrella got under Vinny. He pulled into second on lap six and Rose ducked under Arrenegado, who got loose but made a great save. Estrella began to close the lead, which was down to 3 cars on lap eight. Arrenegado and Rose were another eight cars back, running nose-to tail followed by Uhrig. Estrella was cutting deeply...

This Week at the Action Track of the East!

Welcome back to the Action Track of the East, New England racing fans. I’m glad to see each and everyone of you here this weekend for is now already going to be the halfway point of the season. This week we have more round two action of the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series as drivers prepare for the finale in the coming weeks. Fast Friday will see round two for the Nick’s Pit Stop Legend Cars with more than 25 cars expected to be in battle for the extra distance feature. With 30 laps and double points up on the line, there is no telling what could happen. Jordan Lamothe will return after missing action last week due to a vacation and will be looking to pounce. He has gone winless in the last two races after winning three quick feature events right off the bat. You will see names like Jesse Melberg, Brandon Martinez and Chris Robbins battle it out for glory in round two. Joining the Legend Cars will be the SYRA 600 and SYRA 750, Pure Stocks and Sport 4. It will be interesting to see if Corey Caddick can repeat in the Sport 4 class, after dominating and driving away by more than half the track last week. It was an impressive showing for sure. The SYRA drivers have seen some interesting feature races so far. Hard battles throughout the field which has included some hard crashes have highlighted the action. On Saturday night, we have the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series round two for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Pro Stock division. The...
Degasparre, Adams, Church & Lineham with NWAAS Wins!

Degasparre, Adams, Church & Lineham with NWAAS Wins!

DEGASPARRE ROCKETS FROM GREEN TO CHECKERS Gerry DeGasparre, Jr. exploded from the outside pole to start the extra-laps Mike Marfeo, Jr. Memorial race (also stop two on the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown) to take the lead down the frontstretch and never yield the lead. This, despite an intense effort by Nick Uhrig, who made DeGasparre’s life miserable for forty laps out of fifty. Uhrig spent the race all over the leader’s rear bumper, charging at any and all opportunities and often trying to create some of his own. But at the end of the race, DeGasparre had a .2-second lead and a trip to Victory Lane. Still, it was his first of the season and a change in what the Late Model multi-champ admits has been a difficult year for the team. Dave Hutchins, Jr., who had run second from lap three to lap 11, ran in for third, followed by points leader Charlie Rose and Bobby Pelland III. DeGasparre revealed to the crowd that Mike Marfeo, Sr. had been spotting for him in the memorial, which turned out to be his 50th career win. Missing, however, he told the crowd, was his father, Gerry, Sr., who is awaiting surgery. Polesitter Ron Barboza, Jr. battled DeGasparre at the start, but went to second ahead of Uhrig and Hutchins, who ran by into third on lap two. Mark Hudson then pulled alongside Uhrig. But Curtis Rolando’s spin brought out the caution. Degasparre and Barboza set up for the restart and DeGasparre ran to the front. Barboza dropped into second and pursued but Hutch eased him back to third. Uhrig,...

This Week at the Action Track of the East!

THIS WEEK AT THE ACTION TRACK OF THE EAST!!! This week at the Action Track of the East we have a star-studded lineup on both the Friday and Saturday night program. On Friday evening, we are excited to begin round two of the 2015 Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series with the Sport 4 class. We have been through each of our divisions once in the Triple Crown Series now on both Friday and Saturday. So far, after round one, David Westgate holds the lead in the Triple Crown Series standings. He took the checkered flag in round one of the series back on June 5, just over a month ago. He will be looking for his third overall win of 2015 and looking to not only pad his Triple Crown points lead, but his overall drivers points lead as well. Joining the Sport 4 division on Friday will be the SYRA classes, both the 600 and 750. Both divisions come off their Phil’s Triple Crown races two weeks ago and the championship battles have tightened up throughout. Marissa Morgan leads the 600 championship fight coming in and Shea Kulpa leads the 750 championship run. Both ladies will be looking for their first career championship and Morgan is still chasing her first career track victory. They would become the second and third lady champions in the history of the Seekonk Speedway. Last season, Shelby Donavan took the SYRA 750 title. On Saturday evening our Saturday night divisions begin round two of their Triple Crown Series with a double-dipper for the fans. Since it rained two weeks ago, both the...

This week here at the Action Track of the East we have the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series rolling on for a fifth consecutive weekend! On Fast Friday we will see the SYRA divisions rise to the top looking for glory in their respective 20 lap feature events. With the racing we have seen thus far in the SYRA division, especially the 750, these Triple Crown races could spell some of the best racing across the Northeast. Watch for Shea Kulpa to continue her strong runs in the SYRA 750 this weekend. Kulpa, a two-time feature winner already this year, has one of the best handling cars the division has seen in recent memory. It seems as if when the Donavan sisters left the class, Bowser and Kulpa picked up as the lady leaders. In the SYRA 600, watch for Anthony Marvin and Marissa Morgan to continue their championship fight. They both battled hard coming from the back to the front of the field to the front late in last weeks main event and this week could either spell success or big trouble. With double points up on the line in the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series, one of those drivers could go from leading the standings to outside the top five in a blink of an eye. Also...
