John Robidoux picked up his first win of the season in the 25 lap Pure Stock main event on Friday. John followed Randy Moretti across the finish line in second, but after post-race tech, was handed the trophy.

Dave Darling was daring and dynamic on Saturday, June 23, as he picked up his second win of the season in the 75 lap Pro Stock main event. His last win came on opening day, in the first 75 lap feature of the season. Darling used a late race restart to move past Tom Scully Jr, who dominated the middle portion of the event, and took over the lead for good.

Warwick RI’s Ryan Vanasse picked up the lead during the middle portion of the 40 lap Pro Stock feature, and held off 6 time Pro Stock Champion Fred Astle and Tom Scully Sr in a late race restart to pick up his second Pro Stock win of the season. Kyle Casper brought the field down for the green, and Somerset native set the pace through the early goings.

Jesse Melberg made his way back to the winners circle in the Pure Stocks. Jesse took over on a lap 22 restart and held off defending Pure Stock Champion Bill Chouinard to pick up his second win of the season. The race was dominated by Amy Arsenault, who led from the beginning, but spun out of the lead with just a handful of laps remaining. Melberg took over, and amid heavy pressure, showed there is no “Sophomore Slump” for this Taunton native. Chouinard held on for second, with Chris Lima, Earl Curtin and Tom Blackwell rounding out the top five.

After a long off season, competitors in the 4 Fast Friday classes have been chomping at the bit to get out onto the 1/3 mile oval and compete in front of the fans. They have been off the track for just about a month, since the last open practice session.
