Before Hurricane Irene hunkered down on the Northeast, a different kind of thunder descended onto “The Action Track of the East.” On August 26^th, the thunder of the pure stocks, sport fours, and Seekonk Youth Racing Association 750 and 600 mini cups entertained fans on “Fast Friday” at the Seekonk Speedway. Randy Moretti, Rich Sprague, Tylar Nailor, Chase Belcher picked up the feature victories in their respective divisions.

On Saturday, August 20, the Valenti Auto Mall Modified Racing Series will visit Seekonk Speedway for the first time the year, for a 100 lap main event. This will mark the 17^th visit for the VMRS to the Bay State oval since their inception in 2004.

Mighty Mike Brightman came back from two consecutive weeks of crash-related disappointments to post a big Pro Stock win on the evening of his daughter’s birthday. Brightman posted the best lap of the event enroute to a seat-squirming victory over points leader Fred Astle.
