Goodrow, Toner, Bradstreet, Manfredo & LaMothe Fast Friday Feature Winners!

CAREER WIN NUMBER ONE FOR GOODROW IN 600’s Trenton Goodrow nailed down his first career win, elevating him to the status of second generation Seekonk racers to win a feature, after his father Jeff Goodrow, who had a career in the Late Models in the latter 1990’s.  Trenton deprived pole sitter Ava Chouinard of the lead on a lap two restart following a spin by Alexandria Lillie.  From there it was green flag and an unheaded straight shoot to the checkers for the leading rookie in the division.  Karlin Levesque’s third place finish elevated him to the honor of Phil’s Propane Triple Crown divisional winner for the 2015 season. Goodrow never had a moment’s peace, however, as Anthony Marvin roared up from a last place start and deprived Scott Serydynski, Jr. of second on lap seven.  Marvin then spent the remainder of the feature giving Goodrow the most difficult time possible.  Levesque moved into third at the same time, while Luke LeBrun joined the pursuit one lap later.  Serydynski joined in as a tight line wound around the bullring for the final 12 laps; all five leaders finished on the same second. Marissa Morgan had risen to sixth by lap four and spent the next five laps in pursuit of LeBrun.  But her car became problematic and Evan Marchand steered past as she began a slow fade to tenth, completed when Chouinard took her out of ninth.  Marchand held onto the position until Zachary Martinez edged him back to seventh with two laps remaining. Lillie had battled her car since the early spin and completed the feature in...

Marvin, Bowser, Kun repeat Fast Friday wins. Bradstreet & Martinez make first appearances of 2015!

Anthony Marvin Claims Second SYRA 600 Feature Win of 2015 Rookie contenders Ava Chouinard and Zachary Martinez brought the field of twelve SYRA 600 drivers to the green flag on Fast Friday and the action was hot and heavy right from the start of the feature. The intense drivers went three-wide in turn one with Luke LeBrun, who started sixth in the pack, moving up to the third groove and into the top spot heading into turn three. Not only was there three-wide battling up front, but throughout the field drivers were battling hard not even one lap in and it caused some chaos. Turn three on lap one saw a multi-car crash including points leader Karlin Levesque, Corey Charette, Evan Marchand and Martinez, who took a hard hit. Once the accident was cleaned up and drivers doubled back up for the restart, Chouinard and new challenger Trenton Goodrow took the front two spots but not for long, since Marissa Morgan spun in turn three drawing the second caution of the event before a lap had been put on the scoreboard. Green flag flew once again just after a short cleanup and Trenton Goodrow was able to clear to the top of the field on lap one and set sail away. Goodrow, native of Carver, Massachusetts is a rookie contender in the SYRA 600 but did not show it early on, using the outside lane with success easily. LeBrun was able to clear a tough group of challengers by lap five and get to second and start chase — but the third yellow of the feature flew on lap...

This Week at the Action Track of the East!

Talking about the upcoming weekend, here’s what we have going on. Bare with me, because it’s a TON this weekend. Fast Friday will continue with the finale of the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series for the Pure Stocks class. Amy Arsenault will come into the 30 lap feature with the points lead in the Triple Crown and we will see if she can lock that up and go home victorious. We will also have both of the SYRA classes on hand this Friday night to continue their intense battling around the 1/3 mile oval. Can Taylor Bowser continue to chip away in the SYRA 750 points championship chase? She appears to be well on her way to closing the gap before the end of the season and making things very interesting down the stretch. Look out for the Sport 4, SYRA 600 and Legends feature this weekend as well. All three classes have lots of side-by-side battling and intense racing. The Saturday night racing will have round three of the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series for the Street Stock class. That battle is heated going into the final four with four drivers ready to battle it out and see who becomes the champion with the extra glory on the line. Watch for the Trucks to return strong this weekend as well. They have had some great racing so far this season and their championship chase is getting closer and closer down to the wire. We will see if Dave Lougee can become the champion in only his second season behind the wheel. The Pro Stock championship battle will continue with...
Marchand, Caddick, LeBrun, Lamothe & Lambert grab Fast Friday wins!

Marchand, Caddick, LeBrun, Lamothe & Lambert grab Fast Friday wins!

MARCHAND LEADS 600’S GREEN TO CHECKERS FOR FIRST WIN Evan Marchand snagged the front on the drop of the green and would not let up, carrying the torch from the initial green all the way to Victory Lane for his first-ever win in SYRA 600 competition.  Only a lap 15 caution slowed the streaking Marchand enroute to win, and he was able to pull away and reassume the lead.  Trenton Goodrow served as goad to Marchand, taking second on the opening lap and harrying him the entire 20 laps.  It was his first career victory.  Marissa Morgan, Scott Serydynski, Jr and Luke LeBrun rounded out the top five. Marchand leapt off the pole as Goodrow went under Zachary Martinez into second.  Serydynski followed into third.  Anthony Marvin got outside Martinez and went into fourth followed by Morgan. Martinez was having problems with the car and by lap 3 had faded to tenth. LeBrun had leapt from ninth to sixth, passing Karlin Levesque, Corey Charette and Martinez.  Into lap three, Marchand led Goodrow, Serydynski, Marvin, Morgan and LeBrun.  LeBrun moved up to Morgan’s bumper, while Levesque passed Charette for seventh and was 8 cars back of LeBrun, who was working the outside on Morgan but could not make the pass. By lap eight, Levesque had closed on LeBrun and worked his way underneath.  Marvin, meanwhile, was troubling Serydynski over third but was refused.  Levesque then turned the tables and moved in under Marvin but was rebuffed.  LeBrun then went low on Levesque, succeeding in taking his position back.  Marchand continued to lead Goodrow and Morgan. Goodrow was looking to go around...

This Week at the Action Track of the East!

Only six Friday and Saturday night regular races remain on the 2015 season here at Seekonk Speedway, then we go D.A.V. Fall Classic racing before we close out the 2015 season. Man, where did the time go? You have to remember back to Opening Day, watching Tom Scully Jr. win in honor of his ill mother and watching him celebrate with joy. Look now… Scully Jr. sits only four points behind Angelo Belsito in the Pro Stock championship chase in one that will surely be exciting going down the wire in the next few weeks. While you are here this weekend and reading the program, make sure you rip out the Most Popular Driver ballot and fill it out and pass it in at the base of the tower. Show your support for your favorite driver. Those winners will be announced later in the season during the second pit party of the year on September 5. Fast Friday this weekend should see a thrilling conclusion to the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series for the Nick’s Pit Stop Legend Cars. Names like Jordan Lamothe, T.J. Thompson, Jesse Melberg and others will be battling it out looking to grab the championship in the 30 lap event. We have seen car counts for the Legend Cars rise over 25 this season and I think we will be back there once again. Joining the Legends on Friday include the Sport 4’s, who come off a great race with a battle to the end between Raymond Herman Sr. and Dave Westgate. Congrats go out to Dave and the whole No. 49 team on picking...
