2014 Nick’s Pitstop Legends

2014 Nick’s Pit Stop Legends

In the 2 years that the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends have been part of the Fast Friday program, the season was dominated by one driver each year. 2012 saw Shaun Buffington show the fast way around the 1/3 mile oval. Last year saw Nick Lascoula clinch the title with more than one week of racing left.

Nick has moved up into the LM, and while he may come and play once in a while, his focus will be on Saturdays. That doesn’t mean he won’t be strong when he is here. After all, he did win A LOT last year.

Who will pick up and take over the division? With the top three not returning, it makes the division wide open to be taken over.

Tom Thompson from Lisbon CT has been fast when he’s visited us, and if he runs a full schedule, he could be taking the title back to CT.

Curt Snow is another that has gotten closer and closer to being a force to be reckoned with, as is Andy and Matt Carpenter. All three drivers will be racing for the win before you know it.

There is an influx of new drivers into the Legends this year as well. Jesse Melberg dominated the Pure Stocks for over a season, and is ready to continue that into his new division. A complete rebuild on the car, and he is ready.

Joe and Nick Wisialko will both be competing this season. They both got their feet wet last year, and are both ready to tackle a full season.

Brandon Martinez is a youngster who showed some promise last year, and

Travis Snow is another rookie, but not to racing. Travis has been competing in Kart racing in CT, and cousin to the Pro Stock champion has his sights on success. He’s gotten his major wreck out of the way (he hopes) and after rebuilding the car once, his team knows what it takes to get the car ready.

Jesse Jakubajtys was a rookie last season, and the improvement was stellar for the 15 year old Brockton native. Jesse was getting lapped in his first races, but by the end of the season, he was competing for top fives. Next step is racing for wins, and he is getting closer and closer.

Joey Marfeo will be doubling up his wheels for 2014. Joey competes in Moto-cross racing, and is ready to chase national points. When he’s not on two wheels, he’ll be running 4, proving that four can be just as fun as 2.

Keep your eyes on this division this year. It will be great.
