Ocean State Oil championship night sees Estrella, Bruneau, Belcher & Vanasse with NWAAS wins!

ESTRELLA CAPTURES LATE MODEL FEATURE AND CHAMPIONSHIP Dylan Estrella completed his Late Model season with three consecutive feature wins to claim the championship over reigning champ, Bobby Pelland III. Estrella had chased Pelland most of the season, not moving past until the win streak began. In the feature, Rob Murphy leapt off the pole as Jeramee Lillie came from the second row to get under Nick Uhrig as Vinny Arrenegado looked under him. Vinny backed out but took a second shot and took over second. Estrella came up from seventh to get past Uhrig and Lillie, then nosed ahead into third in turn three of lap two. Vinny locked onto Murphy’s bumper as Gerry DeGasparre, Jr. worked under Lillie, who was stuck outside and Mark Hudson was under Charlie Rose. Vinny began to edge below Murphy. Estrella looked under Arrenegado and made contact. He made a miraculous save as Arrenegado moved forward below Murphy. He moved alongside, then pulled ahead in turn three, completing the pass coming out of turn four. Estrella then ducked under Murphy with DeGasparre on Estrella’s tail. They pushed forward, setting Murphy back to fourth and Estrella took on Arrenegado’s lead. It took him two laps but he was past into the lead and DeGasparre continued underneath to put Arrenegado two down with Murphy on his bumper. But a spin on the backstretch brought caution and Pelland, who had been struggling with his car, ran for the pits. On the restart, Estrella nosed away from Arrenegado and took control in turn two. DeGasparre tried to follow underneath, but Vinny dropped and shut the door. Austin... read more

McMullen, Oullette, Caddick, Moretti & Johnson claim Fast Friday Championship features!

MCMULLEN WINS FIRST FEATURE; LEVESQUE TAKES SYRA 600 CHAMPIONSHIP Colin McMullen leapt out to the lead in SYRA 600 action and aside from a single lap when Anthony Marvin pushed a nose past late in the feature, led from green to checkers for his first ever win in 600 competition. Marvin hung tough throughout the latter stages of the race to finish just five hundredths of a second back. Scott Serydynski, Jr. was an eighth of a second off and Luke LeBrun was .189 off. The top seven all finished within the same second as Karlin Levesque, Trenton Goodrow and Alexandra Lillie all finished in a tight pack. McMullen came off the pole escaping Alexandria Lillie before Evan Marchand spun in turn two, bringing the field back for a full race restart. McMullen was away again and Marvin marched to third before Marissa Morgan and Marchand spun on lap two. McMullen was away to the lead right out of the box with Marvin jumping onto his bumper. Levesque was working the outside in fourth but Serydynski moved him back. Goodrow then surged into fourth, behind Serydynski and Levesque worked his rear bumper. LeBrun, trying to overcome Levesque’s championship points lead passed Lillie onto Levesque’s bumper, but the latter was able to move Goodrow back as a buffer between them. As McMullen, Marvin and Serydynski charged along in the top three spots, LeBrun continued to work on Goodrow, who in turn sought to get by Levesque. The trio disputed with intensity as the laps unwound. Lap nine saw Goodrow ease Levesque out of fourth and LeBrun followed up by pushing... read more

Estrella, Lovelace, Cavallaro & Spencer NWAAS winners!

ESTRELLA LATE PASS MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW Rob Murphy grabbed the lead off the pole and took off, running.  But  back in the pack, something was rumbling and it was Charlie Rose, intent on proving he had it despite losing last week’s finish with a tech infraction.  And to the front he came, to take it over on lap 13, after chasing Murphy’s bumper since lap two.  But there was something else a-rumblin’ and that was last week’s winner, Dylan Estrella, protecting his 19 point series lead over Bobby Pelland III. Estrella slid into fourth behind a major debate over second raging between Murphy and Vinny Arrenegado.  After a lap 19 restart, Estrella was by Murphy and four laps later he was behind Rose in second.  Charlie had the afterburners going, but Estrella bore down and  four more laps had him recorded as the leader with two remaining.  Rose was unable to recapture the lead and Estrella roared home for his second in a row and fifth on the year.  Rose claimed second and Arrenegado third.  Murphy was fourth, Just ahead of Pelland.  Estrella’s points lead bloomed by another ten points, leaving next week’s race a showdown between the current Late Model Champion and this year’s pretender to the throne. Murphy and Mark Hudson led off from the front with the former taking the lead after brief contact with Hudson.  Arrenegado went under Hudson, who spun and took Gerry DeGasparre, Jr. with him into the wall.  DeGasparre, with massive front end damage angrily nosed into Hudson and was black-flagged.  Both drivers retired for the night with no... read more

Goodrow, Lebrun, Caddick, Thompson & Henriques Fast Friday winners!

GOODROW WIN MAKES IT TWO ON THE SEASON Trenton Goodrow followed up on his first rookie win with a big second trophy run, moving to second early on, then taking over the lead vacated by early leader Alexandria Lillie, which included a mid race debate over the lead with last week’s winner Luke LeBrun.  But Goodrow secured the lead on lap 15 and battled LeBrun to the checkers, coming out with the win.  Points leader Karlin Levesque got by LeBrun for second while the latter finished third.  Zachary Martinez and Evan Marchand rounded out the top five. Lillie started outside Ava Chouinard and quickly grabbed the front, but dropped across Chouinard’s nose.  Chouinard grabbed second while Goodrow came powering around the field from ninth, three-wide.  Martinez looked under Chouinard and Marchand went to her outside, sprouting another three-wide.  LeBrun and Levesque were jousting as well, when Levesque spun on the front stretch. The lap one restart saw Lillie and Chouinard lined up again, with Marchand going under Chouinard as Lillie escaped with the lead.  Three-wide ruled as Scott Serydynski, Jr. came around Goodrow who was outside Chouinard.  Goodrow came out ahead with Serydynski giving chase and Levesque in pursuit.  Serydynski fell back as Levesque and Marissa Morgan went by.  Serydynski challenged Levesque and held fifth  briefly as Goodrow went to third at Marvin’s expense, then took second from Marvin on lap six, before Morgan and Chouinard made contact, sending the former into a spin. Marchand lined up outside Lille, but Goodrow got underneath him at the green and Serydynski followed.  LeBrun nabbed fifth and Marchand tumbled to eighth over... read more
